BucksNBills Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 What sports website do you guys use other than the the biased, smug, soulless hype machine of a monopoly known as ESPN?
Philly McButterpants Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 What sports website do you guys use other than the the biased, smug, soulless hype machine of a monopoly known as ESPN? CNN - SI.com I hate the magazine, but the website rocks . . . . great NFL coverage. A bit too much Pat*s ballwashing by Peter King, but if you can get by that . . . .
BillsFan-4-Ever Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Actually I don't like the "new" ESPN format where most of it is a "video" feed. CNN - SI.com and CBS Sportsline don’t seem much better but that could be because of the "off season" nothing new to report besides Rumors.
Chandler#81 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 TheSportingnews.com I get it 'delivered' every morning. Not as many editorials/personal opinions, which can make it a bit boring, but pretty factual.
Steely Dan Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 What sports website do you guys use other than the the biased, smug, soulless hype machine of a monopoly known as ESPN? Why do feel that way about ESPN?
pkwwjd Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 TwoBillsDrive.com ... is there any other source of information?
Indy Dave Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 TheSportingnews.com I get it 'delivered' every morning. Not as many editorials/personal opinions, which can make it a bit boring, but pretty factual. People who don't sign up for this daily email (it's free) are really missing out. No team is ignored, no sport is ignored, no game is ignored.
GOBILLS78 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 CNNSI.com. ESPN.com is a better site, with more/better information, but it's no longer user-friendly.
Glass To The Arson Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 i use rotoworld.com pro football talk and this board
billsfan960 Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ Pro Football Talk (Rumours) is the best ---Next to Two Bills Drive!!!
TheMadCap Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I like tsn.ca but then again, I like reading hockey stories...
TimGraham Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 With all these other options out there, I guess we need to renew our monopoly mission. Damn all this free information and differing viewpoints!
Band of Merriman Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 With all these other options out there, I guess we need to renew our monopoly mission. Damn all this free information and differing viewpoints! Everybody shhh. The ESPN shill is in the room.
Band of Merriman Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 My only real knock against ESPN is their requirement for you to become an "Insider" in order to access certain content. I really like some of the things they offer that you don't find on other sites. A good example would be their podcasts.
KD in CA Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 My only real knock against ESPN is their requirement for you to become an "Insider" in order to access certain content. I really like some of the things they offer that you don't find on other sites. A good example would be their podcasts. That and Bill Simmons. Actually I don't like the "new" ESPN format where most of it is a "video" feed. This is my #1 complaint about the web in general and you see it all over the place; news sites, sports sites, etc. They want you to download, watch their ad and then sit through a generally uninformative video. Arrgh. Meanwhile it would have taken five seconds to click on and read a two paragraph story.
todzilla Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 I read cbs sportsline and espn mostly. I don't miss a Bill Simmons article or podcast (except some of the hoops stuff). Not to kiss up to Timmy, but I really liked the blogs on ESPN last football season, and I enjoy alot of the ESPN chats. I agree on the videos, I don't need them, and Insider is BS. CBS sportline is where I play fantasy so I am on there and usually check out some of the articles. The writers are average at best though.
