The Big Cat Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Anyone who does not work out ends up as an "F." If Pennington was even remotely decent, the Bills would not have cut him after 7 games or another NFL team would have picked him up. Teams do find useful players in the 7th round, especially special teamers. We have not done that in the 7th round in the two drafts you mentioned. IIRC, we were still drafting for need in the 7th round in '06. That's why Pennington made it 17 NFL games, starting the last 7.
JPicc2114 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I didnt think we would be breaking out the public school grading scale.
Britbillsfan Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Three years ago ('06): 1 (8) - Donte Whitner, S = B- 1 (26) - John McCargo, DT = D 3 (70) - Ashton Youboty, CB = B+ 4 (105) - Ko Simpson, S = C 5 (134) - Kyle Williams, DT = B+ 5 (143) - Brad Butler, OL = A 6 (178) - Keith Ellison, LB = B+ 7 (216) - Terrance Pennington, OT = C 7 (248) - Aaron Merz, G = C Overall a solid B. Simpson failing to live up to his earlier promise and McCargo (apparently) getting fat and lazy drag this one down. Who knows, maybe the near trade and surgery will light a fire under him. Or maybe not. Two years ago ('07) 1 (12) - Marshawn Lynch, RB = B+ 2 (34) - Paul Posluszny, LB = B 3 (92) - Trent Edwards, QB = A- 4 (111) - Dwayne Wright, RB = D 6 (184) - John Wendling, S = C 7 (222) - Derek Schouman, TE= C 7 (239) - C.J. Ah You, DE = F Another B. Good first three picks, but then falls away
