The Big Cat Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 A combination: Catching threats added, interior strengthened. A result: Higher yards per carry. 2008 = 4.2 ypc 2009 = 4.9 ypc You heard it here first!
colin Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 red zone TD % as well. with more maulers up front and much more size at WR and TE i think we start turning 3s into 7s
Lofton80 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 The whiffs on short yardage plays would be a great starting point. Fowler and Preston surely led the league.
offde-fence Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 With our RB's, there is no excuse not to be one of the top five rushing teams in the nfl. Now that we have T.O. and Evans, and now Nelson, too, that stat should doubly improve, given that we've upgraded our O-line. It seems those moves on the O-line have given more strength and potential to both the running and passing games. Teams, it should seem, will have to be honest against us. Our defense should be more opportunistic, and our Special teams will regularly give us good field position. Lets see what the coaches can do, now that we've got all the weapons we could ask for.
Brandon Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I don't know if it will or not. In the long run, yes, I expect it to result in an improvement in the running game, but this is still going to be a big change up front, especially with what amounts to three rookies (Wood, Levitre, Bell) likely to see significant playing time. Its going to take a while for that OL to come together as a single unit.
