Beerball Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Link Five best moves 2. Buffalo Bills: DE/OLB Aaron Maybin (No. 11 overall) Maybin is the best pure pass-rusher in this year's draft. The Bills can develop him properly early in his career in a rotation with Chris Kelsay and Aaron Schobel while he adds bulk and gets stronger versus the run. Player analysis 11. Buffalo Bills The pick: Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn State What he brings: Maybin has the quick first step and the athleticism to be extremely effective rushing the passer off the edge. He also displays great balance along with strong closing burst when in pursuit from the backside. One of the concerns we have about him includes his being light in the hips, which may cause him to struggle when caught in phone-booth situations with bigger blockers. How he fits: This pick fills a need for a team that had trouble rushing the passer in 2008. Maybin is a quick-twitch pass-rusher with a lot of upside. Chris Kelsay did not play super in 2008 and the injury to Aaron Schobel sent their defensive line into a semi-tailspin. Maybin will have to improve versus the run, but can provide immediate help on third down, which is the money down in the NFL. 28. Buffalo Bills (from Carolina through Philadelphia) The pick: Eric Wood, C, Louisville What he brings: At 310 pounds, Wood has ideal size for a center and the strength to hold his own when nose tackles line up over his head. He also does a good job of getting into position and covering up linebackers. Although he lacks ideal lateral mobility, Wood shows good footwork and uses his hands well in pass protection. How he fits: This is not a flashy pick, but the interior of Buffalo's line really struggled in 2008. Wood provides immediate help to what was a significant weakness, much like Alex Mack does for the Browns. Wood is capable of being a longtime starting center in the NFL. He is smart, tough and has outstanding football character. Wood will be especially important in a division where all three opponents play primarily a 3-4 scheme because he will be responsible for controlling the opposing nose tackle.
Lori Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Not the entire column, no. ESPN has a lot more money to hire lawyers than we do. But if there's a reasonable excerpt (say, a couple of paragraphs), that's fine. Add: that works for me, Sphere.
ndirish1978 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 Thanks to Beerball for posting the excerpt and thank you to Lori and Drizz for pointing out the possible problems with my request.
