darkman Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Just to put this in prospective....do you realize some of you guys are bitching about who they are taking in the 6th round of the draft..... That we got our TE and Nic Harris so late alone makes this day a success I agree, outstanding draft. 6th round, who cares. But we could have gotten some depth at needed positions. As someone else pointed out, Mcgee may not be here next year, so this could be okay.
UConn James Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 You're kidding right Who cares. The guy isn't needed at all. Let some other retard organization pick him up as an undrafted FA. For every good pick there has been a "WTH" pick. Seriously, how many DB's can we play at one time? Are they planning on using them to rush the passer or stuff the interior line? These guys are complete dunces at times. Wait for it... wait for it.... Sept 2009: Dick Jauron develops the NFL's first 11-DB defense.
darkman Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Wait for it... wait for it.... Sept 2009: Dick Jauron develops the NFL's first 11-DB defense. Post of the draft! We just have to name it. WildJauron defense DeTard defense hmm...
Brandon Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Just to put this in prospective....do you realize some of you guys are bitching about who they are taking in the 6th round of the draft..... That we got our TE and Nic Harris so late alone makes this day a success You're right to a point, but if they have to cut this guy this fall for the final roster AND they end up thin at DT or some other position, then this doesn't look too bright, at least IMO. They have too many DBs. They can't keep 'em all.
billsfan714 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Wait for it... wait for it.... Sept 2009: Dick Jauron develops the NFL's first 11-DB defense. Dicks planning on moving Maybin to strong safety.
Astrobot Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Post of the draft! We just have to name it. WildJauron defense DeTard defense hmm... "Jauron a Thin Rope" defense...
Virgil Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I admit to having jumped the gun on other players who make sense once you see them in other positions, but that isn't the case here. This kid is a cb and only a cb. We are more than set at cb. We have McGee, McKelvin, Youbooty, and Corner. This was not a need in any sense of the word. And like someone else said, while it is the 6th round, there were still some guys out there who could have competed to start at positions that are need. That is why I am upset about this
billsfan714 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Or maybe when the Bills said they like Maybins speed coming off the edge, they envisioned the Maybin corner blitz.
Bill from NYC Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Sirius likes the player. Pro day time was bad, slow. Speed is a concern. Strange pick. For who?
San Jose Bills Fan Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Wait for it... wait for it.... Sept 2009: Dick Jauron develops the NFL's first 11-DB defense. Post of the draft! We just have to name it. WildJauron defense DeTard defense hmm... The JauronIMO Defense. You're right to a point, but if they have to cut this guy this fall for the final roster AND they end up thin at DT or some other position, then this doesn't look too bright, at least IMO. They have too many DBs. They can't keep 'em all. He had both ankles operated on in spring of this year. I'm thinking practice squad with good upside. Not crazy about the pick but it is the sixth round.
Heitz Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 For who? Harris. Must be a special teamer that they feel has the potential to develop...
billsfan714 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I agree, dont we at least need a backup OT, something at DT or a backup QB to develop. This kid will be cut like the kid from Pitt last year.
bladiebla Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Wait for it... wait for it.... Sept 2009: Dick Jauron develops the NFL's first 11-DB defense. Featuring the all out 11 DB blitz....
Brandon Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 The JauronIMO Defense. He had both ankles operated on in spring of this year. I'm thinking practice squad with good upside. Not crazy about the pick but it is the sixth round. The practice squad is a possibility, much more than the regular roster, IMO. That said, if he can play, how long do you think it'll be until some other team signs him? Not long. This is much like the Kennard Cox pick last year. They simply don't have room on the roster and regardless of the quality of the player, that makes it a very questionable pick. Whether its Harris, Youboty or Corner, someone probably has to go once the final cut downs occur. Granted, its just a 6th rounder, but it makes one wonder what the front office is thinking.
Ever Since '86 Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Harris. Must be a special teamer that they feel has the potential to develop... Nice to see the godfather of Phi Kappa Epsilon on!
bladiebla Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 In all seriousness his speed can't be an issue the guy ran track at school as well; posting 10.75 @ 100 meters; might be a surprise but again what do you do if he works out... There are a lot of guys to be cut at DB this year.
Alphadawg7 Posted April 26, 2009 Author Posted April 26, 2009 We have 5 DB's, 3 of which frequently get hurt...its great value as he was projected 3rd round... And you are all forgetting about potential ST contributions... This kid can play, so how do you know he wont beat our Corner or Youboty?
