OCinBuffalo Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Think about it. IF you want him gone, then you want him to do the things today, this season, that you say "always fail". Let's assume the Jauron haters are right: 1. Jauron drafts DBs too often and drafting DBs instead of other positions is the reason we lose 2. Jauron won't draft the fat guys high enough. 3. Jauron is a bad coach on gameday in terms of his decisions 4. This year the draft moves that are made are: not drafting lineman, or not drafting enough of them, or drafting a safety or WR 1st, etc. 5. (Fill in the rest of the reasons you don't like him or things that he will do that will fail) Then, let's assume the results of the 2009 season, moves and all, are another 7-9 season or worse. We can expect Jauron, and others, to get canned. Isn't that what you wanted in the first place? Jauron will not be fired if the Bills go 11-5 and make the playoffs....and prove that he knows, and you....don't. So, if Jauron does the things that you think are going to fail, you don't get to complain for the next 5 months, because according to you, these things will make him, and the team, fail. IF he fails because of the things he does, that you say are wrong, then he is gone, which is what you wanted to begin with. That is, unless you are wrong....
SuperKillerRobots Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Ha ha. Nice way to look at it. No matter what happens, in a year from now everyone should be happy.
ax4782 Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 If only it were true. The haters are ever-present on this board and that's not going to change. Assuming they are wrong, and the Bills go 11-5, which even I have to admit would take a small miracle given their schedule, the Jauron-haters will say that this was a fluke season, like when he went 13-3 with the Bears. Buffalo could have three or four winning seasons and they would still say they were flukes. Like all coaches, Jauron has his faults and has made some poor game day decisions. A lot of coaches make mistakes. Winning covers the blemishes, losing makes them stand out even more. Keeping in mind as well, that Jauron has little control on draft day. The "Inner Circle" is much more responsible for those choices than Jauron. But of course, when you have a person in your sights, they're the only one acting wrongly. After all, weren't you aware that Jauron not only coaches, but plays all 22 positions each and every game. Don't mind the names on the backs of the players. It's really Dick Jauron out there playing when passes are dropped and blockers miss their assignments.

Dick can EASILY lose enough games even with a stellar draft. In that case, I hope we make all the RIGHT moves in the draft, it is followed by terrible caoching (suprise) and we finish in the top 5 of next years draft. Our new coach then inherits a great young roster to lead to the SB.
OCinBuffalo Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 What if we want Dick to stay? Then you get to complain all you want. Just try to keep it to one Pettigrew/"we better take a DE/OT"/TO post a week please.
el Tigre Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 What if we want Dick to stay? If DICK gets fired maybe they would hire Jimmy JOHNSON or Houston NUTT
Sisyphean Bills Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Then you get to complain all you want. Just try to keep it to one Pettigrew/"we better take a DE/OT"/TO post a week please. Actually, I want BPA. There are too many holes to go chasing certain positions and even if they are patched it is going to take time. Enough with the wheel-spinning and trying to maintain a 7-9 team year in and year out. Get some core talent and build towards the future. If Jauron survives or not isn't a concern because there are many better coaches that could come in and set a direction in a heartbeat.

Bad drafts set the team back for years to come, not just the year they happen. So if the Bills bungle this draft it will be small consolation if the entire front office is canned at the end of the year. That just means that the next group will have an even worse mess to clean up. Nice try, but your logic doesn't work.
OCinBuffalo Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 wrong Right. And yes, this means YOU Rico ...Badobilz...and the rest of the "B word no matter what" crowd. If you are so convinced that Jauron is bad, then why would you feel a need to keep finding reasons to confirm that?....unless you weren't very convinced, or, you just enjoy bitching.
Rico Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Right. STFU, douche. If the Bills continue to suck, I will B word all I want to.
Kelly the Dog Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Right. Lost in a long, old thread, but... IMO, a Head Coach needs to do about 10-12 major things, and good ones do most all of them well. Jauron does one of them well: He gets his guys to play hard. But... 1] He doesn't make good in game decisions 2] He doesn't make good crucial decisions that define or win games 3] He doesn't make good in game adjustments 4] He doesn't make good halftime adjustments 5] He doesn't make good, distinct, innovative game plans 6] He doesn't put his best players in positions to excel 7] He doesn't have the knack for knowing when to be aggressive or play it safe 8] He's a defensive coach but he doesn't have a signature defense or style or anything he really adds, 9] He doesn't make good calls on challenges (although I usually don't blame that on the head coach), 10] And he doesn't win big games, 11] And he doesn't win. 12] He also doesn't hire great assistants. That ain't a good coach any way you slice it.

That just means that the next group will have an even worse mess to clean up. Nice try, but your logic doesn't work. Bad drafts do effect teams for years. True, but irrelevant. This is about people who are bitching for the sake of bitching. And my logic does work-->a rebuild is a rebuild, what possible difference does it make whether the 7,8 or 9 players we draft this year are good or not, a new FO and coach puts every player on the team in question anyway i.e. what if the new guys want to run 3-4 D or West Coast offense? Nice try, but you apparently don't understand what happens when a new GM, never mind just a new head coach, is hired.
Sisyphean Bills Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Nice try, but you apparently don't understand what happens when a new GM, never mind just a new head coach, is hired. They use the honeymoon period to build a 7-9 team?
OCinBuffalo Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 STFU, douche. If the Bills continue to suck, I will B word all I want to. Game, set, match. Thanks for confirming my premise = that you are going to B word no matter what happens. And, I bet that if you thought you could get away with it, you'd B word if this team went 11-5.
OCinBuffalo Posted April 25, 2009 Author Posted April 25, 2009 They use the honeymoon period to build a 7-9 team? Yeah, that's exactly what happened in Miami last year.
spartacus Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Yeah, that's exactly what happened in Miami last year. Miami went 11-5 and made the playoffs in year 1 of their re-build We are in year 4 of Dick's rebuild and he still hasn't progressed past 7-9. Looks like a new re-build is starting this year as they gut the team again.
Bill from NYC Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Right. He should have already been fired. He is a bungler; a career loser. He could go 4-12 this season and not be a lock to be fired. This would mean Ralph having to pay him to be a defensive backs coach on another team, because no one else would be dumb enough to hire Jauron and a head coach, or even a DC.
Sisyphean Bills Posted April 25, 2009 Posted April 25, 2009 Yeah, that's exactly what happened in Miami last year. You can't be serious.
