Agreed on that. I just think that the Bills should manipulate their position so that they maximize value and address the lines.

If Pettigrew happens to be the best player available and they can move 5 spots down, acquire an extra pick and pick up a defensive lineman and playmaker, it might tilt the scales in their favor. Given that the Bills have the lowest number of "trade-downs" in the NFL, I doubt it will happen, but ya never know

I'm not sure they'll be able to trade down and get him. I suppose we'll never know, however, unless they actually trade down.

I say yes. All other TE's you name don't block. That's like drafting a third WR. A guy that gets 10 plays a game. A guy like Pettigrew plays every down. He blocks well. He catches well. None of the other TE's in this draft (or many in the league) can say that. I have no faith in teh Tackles that will be availalbe when we draft, you can get the same production out of the 28 spot. Same with DE, I'd take someone if I trusted there talent, but there are too many questions. Pettigrew is a rare find. You don't let them pass. 11 may be higher than ideal, but it's a risk I'd take.

I was just thinking about this but didnt want to make another thread.

I havent seen him play much so I have to ask, how good of a blocker is Pettigrew? The reason I ask is, if he truly is a talented blocker, then doesnt he automatically make our tackles (Walker, Chambers, Bell) better? And if we put another talented interior lineman in the mix, then THEY will make out tackles better too?

So how good of blocker is he? Worth taking at 11 and then maybe a DE at 28 and interior lineman at 42?

Wasn't saying trade down and get him. I was saying that rather than stay put and get Pettigrew, a better option would be to trade down a few spots, let someone else take Pettigrew, and take a lineman that fits that draft slot. Jared Cook should be available in the second round and I think that's the direction this team should go given the dire need on the lines.

Not sure. I think Pettigrew is a significantly better player than Cook. I'm not sure how much you've seen of Pettigrew, but the guy is really, really good (or so he appeared to me).

Having said this, I'd like to see a DE and OLB chosen early on.

Exactly how my mock goes . Brown, Beatty, then Cook.

Blocking is a specialty of Brandon Pettigrew and he does it with an attitude, he's a punishing blocker with good hands and a good feel for the game of football.

Pettigrew helps Trent Edwards by giving him another short and intermediate weapon, Pettigrew helps the run game and also helps the pass protection.

Yes he's worth it at 11
