Captain America Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Reminds me of that movie Ace Ventura Pet Detective. Remember that kicker from the Dolphins?
Guest Guest Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 to answer my own question: Cops Say Former NFL Kicker Shot at Home of Siegfried & Roy Police in Las Vegas are searching for a former NFL kicker, after a bizarre incident at the home of illusionists Siegfried and Roy. 31-year-old Cole Ford is accused of shooting into the estate of the world famous entertainers at least four times as he drove by in a white minivan. No one was injured, but Ford is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a weapon from a motor vehicle. A witness got the license number of the van. He was last seen driving a white, 2000 Chevy Astro van with Nevada plates 953 RBJ. Cole Ford is 6 foot 2 inches with brown hair and brown eyes. Police say they aren't sure what possible motive Ford might have had for the shooting. But they say Ford's behavior has apparently been erratic in the past few years. Earlier this year, Ford reportedly filed a lawsuit against a Las Vegas casino, demanding a share of all bets placed on games in which he participated as a professional football player. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the lawsuit was dismissed immediately. Ford's career spanned from 1995 through 1997, and ended after a series of missed field goals in crucial situations. 9-1-1 Call Details the Shooting: On Sept. 22, police say a white van pulled up to the home of Siegfried and Roy and shot at it four times, shattering a window. A gardener who saw it happen called for help. 911 operator: "What is your emergency sir?" Caller: "They, they threw some kind of bomb over the fence and the windows are all shattered." 911 operator: "Okay, who threw, who threw what over the fence sir?" Caller: "I don't know. I have worked here for 14 years; I've never seen that vehicle before. And they hollered something out like get out of our country and go home or something." 911 operator: "The person did?" Caller: "Yes."

BillsGuyInMalta Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 I actually own this guy's actual jersey, used from practices. I bought it on BuffaloBills.com awhile ago, and it came with a little certificate saying who used it, and it happened to be Cole Ford during his brief stint in Buffalo. I just wanted to buy the mega-cheap practice jerseys for the hell of it...never would I have guessed one of the players whose jersey I bought would go on a shooting rampage towards two Las Vegas magicians.
BRH Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 Does anyone else make the connection between these two sentences? Earlier this year, Ford reportedly filed a lawsuit against a Las Vegas casino, demanding a share of all bets placed on games in which he participated as a professional football player. Ford's career...ended after a series of missed field goals in crucial situations.
Kay Stephenson Fan Club Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 If I had to make odds on what former NFL kicker would go nuts and start acting erratically, I wouldn't have listed Cole Ford. Weird.
