Steely Dan Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 I didn't want Ellis in last years draft due to him having chronic injury problems and he finished the year on IR. Hopefully his struggles were due to injury and he will never have another one that keeps him out for several games and he bounces back this year.
Sen. John Blutarsky Posted April 23, 2009 Posted April 23, 2009 Seriously, how does this guy factor what the Bills do on Sunday? I like the idea of a DE @ 11, but I was pleased with what I saw from Ellis in his limited play. What are the chances of Ellis being a playmaker? Do we NEED a playmaker and/or/because Ellis is only good enough for depth? I've seen virtually no press on the guy. Is he that bad, or were the Bills keeping the lid on him? Well given our relentless pass rush last year it only made sense for the Bills to keep their shiny new toy under wraps. Why waste a year of Deacon Jones and Michael Strahan combined when we were already abusing every QB in the league? Honestly, it's a move of sheer genius. Look for the Bills to sit Chris Ellis for every game as a way to limit his bargaining power on his next contract. They'll still overpay to keep him of course, they just won't HAVE to overpay him.
