Guest dog14787 Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Based on the many needs of the Bills, I would say pass at 11 for Pettigrew. If we still had Peters and had a better D line, I would be all for it. Casey in the 3rd round is a great value, not so big on Coffman. If we could get a DE with the first pick, LB/OT with the 2nd 1st, C/G/LB/OT in the 2nd, and Casey in the 3rd, we made huge strides and are more competitive IMO. With the DEs not being as deep, taking Pettigrew at 11 seems more like a great pick for a team more accomplished than our own. BTW, I would love Pettigrew on our team. Seems like losing Peters would be the reason why you would want the best blocking TE coming out of the draft, especially as good of a receiver as he is, he has to be accounted for and the lack of a catching TE has been a huge thorn in our side for years. Its BS that we keep finding excuses to look past a position that is so vital to our teams success. If we skip on Pettigrew and he was available to us, I will lose all the faith I have left in our FO. Even this board on a vote had Pettigrew winning yesterday when I looked at it and I would like to think we have some pretty football savvy folks on TSW.
John from Riverside Posted April 22, 2009 Posted April 22, 2009 Pettigrou is my guy.....I would like to trade down some more and get another pick in the process.....and I wont immediately like it if he is taken at 11 but I would be over that in an hour I believe everything the bills say when talking about how they are comfortable with L. Walker and D. Bell......and keep in mind that you are not just drafting a large wide receiver with this tight end....you are drafting a player who is like an additional offensive tackle on the field.......concerned about D. Bell's inexperience? Line up this tight end next to him to help......Edwards and Pettigrou would became an immediate tandem......and while people talk about having TO keep in mind we have him for ONE YEAR......I think there is ZERO chance of him being here after next year even if we wanted him......and by that time Brandon P. and Edwards will already be working on their chemistry. This is the kind of player you need when it gets cold......when you need to get that first down on the ground this is a guy who will move a DE to get it......an unselfish guy who can still make impact plays. If the bills take Brandon P. at 11 I will live if it.....if we took him at 15 or whatever we traded down to and got a dropping player in the 3rd or used that 3rd to possibly bring in a player that could help us somewhere else (John Henderson?) I would run naked down my street.
