papazoid Posted April 20, 2009 Posted April 20, 2009 Raji Didn’t Test Positive Posted by Mike Florio on April 20, 2009, 11:05 a.m. Well, SI.com perhaps will now officially retract its report regarding Boston College defensive tackle B.J. Raji. Per a league source, Raji’s name did not appear on the list of players who tested positive for marijuana at the Scouting Combine. Earlier this month, Tony Pauline of SI.com reported that Raji tested positive. After Raji and his agents denied it, SI.com pulled the story. But SI.com didn’t retract the report. Eventually, SI.com issued the following statement: “We have investigated the claims of Mr. Raji’s agent and although we have several credible sources for the report we have decided to take it down while we continue reporting the story.” Appearing on radio recently with Mike Dempsey of 1010XL in Jacksonville, Pauline declared: “I stand by what my sources told me.” Davis, Cushing, Matthews Not On Positive List, Either Posted by Mike Florio on April 20, 2009, 11:48 a.m. And so the truth continues to come out regarding the players who supposedly tested positive at the Scouting Combine. Per a league source, none of the players who reportedly tested positive and then denied testing positive actually tested positive. This means that Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis did not test positive for marijuana, and that USC linebackers Clay Matthews and Brian Cushing did not test positive for steroids. And it could mean that Davis and Cushing and Matthews soon could be the new co-owners of NFLDraftBible.com, the site that reported that each of them tested positive.
