OnTheRocks Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 In 2007 I was pretty happy with Lynch, Poz, and Edwards, and in the later rounds Dwayne Wright (who I was disappointed they releaded him) and Schouman. Before that I would have to go all way back to 2001 with Clemments, Schobel, Henry, Jennings, and Brandon Spoon, Marques Sullivan and Dan O'Leary. This year...I don't know if they will be available - but with a somewhat "reasonable" hope, I would love to see the Bills get Brian Orakpo at 11 and Michael Oher at 28. I would be REALLY Happy if they got Oher at 28 and traded down from that 11 pick to get additional bodies.

Didn't we trade down too and get Clements? I was also pleased last year with McKelvin, Hardy, Ellis in rounds 1-3, esp. getting Hardy where we did.
ganesh Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Agreed...Those two were very good drafts...However, they looked good only because they were also very need based drafts that required talent infusion....
SouthGeorgiaBillsFan Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 The last time I was *this* happy was after the Bills lost 4 super bowls...
billnutinphoenix Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 1987..ahhh the good ole days....remember Howard Ballard...
ans4e64 Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I was happy last year when Hardy was sitting there in the 2nd round. Ecstatic. We all know how that turned out. I was happy the year before with Lynch, Poz, Trent and Wright.
Virgil Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 On paper, I was really happy last year. I thought that they really filled all their needs and, with what they built on before, were in a real position to handle business.
John from Riverside Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I still think the lynch, poz, edwards draft was a good one.
bluenews Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 everytime I hear Marv Levy say, "where else would you rather be than, right here, right now!"
Ramius Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 I was stoked about the 2002 draft. We had drafted our 10 year OT, we snagged the nation's best WR when he fell into the second round, and got a solid DE to play opposite schobel. Things were looking up.
SF Bills Fan Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 Very Satisfied with the Lynch, Edwards and Poz draft. I remember being pretty psyched on Poz alone.

Of course nobody knew it at the time so I may not have been "really really happy" on that April day, but that was the Polian draft where he stole Thurman Thomas in the second round. Thurman turned out to be the last Hall of Famer drafted by Bill Polian and the final piece of 4 straight SB Bills puzzle.
billsfreak Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 2007-With Lynch, Poz and Edwards, 3 players who could be long term starters if they stay out of jail.
Jdorn Posted April 19, 2009 Posted April 19, 2009 yesterday, and I plan on more happiness today As do I my friend As do I.
