billnutinphoenix Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 The Buffalo Bills FO and Ralph Wilson can go f@#k themselves. They needed to use that pick on a nasty pass rushing DE. 2-14 here we come. I hate to say it, but I am starting to think this as well....I know it is early...but Langston Walker is strictly a RT....Bell is untested....Kirk Chambers at LG....Hangartner at C (undersized)....Butler at RG....This has to be the worst OL in the league...
BillsVet Posted April 17, 2009 Posted April 17, 2009 Demetrious Bell You're banking on a guy who's never taken part in an actual NFL game? That's not a comforting idea. Especially playing OT. Ok first of all i can make a point about everyone of those guys the Bills "let out the front door'.McGhee never really was that great and then there was the whole Toronto comment Clements was way over paid. San Fran loves over paying for Bills FA. Look up Jonas Jennings. Milloy was the six yard sherriff. He was done in his second year with the Bills. His talent did not match his name. Fletcher was old and did not do very much for Washington. They too like to overpay for talent. Bills are a very financially sound team. They will not over pay for talent. There is your explanation for Peters. You do replace ageing talent with younger talent. Or you replace players that you can not resign or are not team guys, this would be Peters again. Now Oher at 11 would not be a bad pick. But something tells me the Bills are going to go D with the first pick. Then pick up one of the interior Oline guys in the second. If they dont trade for Scheffler then I would not be surprised if they used the second first or second round pick on a TE. Man, with that kind of front office running the show, you'd think Buffalo's made the playoffs in the past 9 seasons. The Bills are who we thought they were (that line never gets old) - a team without the management to exercise a vision toward improving. It's why they've gone 7-9 three seasons in a row. If there's one guy who should have been let go this offseason, it was the HC.

Chris Kelsay is still employed on this team pulling in 6 million dollars a year. Their head coach, who has a ridiculous 7 out of 8 years losing record as a head coach, just got a freaking pay raise and a 3 years extension. Not only has he yet to have a winning record for us, he has yet to beat a good team. But they get pissed that their pro-bowl LT of the future wants the going rate for his services and so they deal him for basically what amounts to a high second round draft pick while creating a gaping whole for which they will patchwork a couple of rookies and scrub offensive lineman, knowing full well their starting QB has the fragility of a china doll. The Buffalo Bills...where every good to great player leaves, every over-rated "high-motor" player gets a new contract and every average free agent acquired from other teams get boat loads of money. Wash, rinse and repeat. We really do have morons running our team.

Fingon Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I don't doubt that Bell will be a good tackle, but i doubt he is ready to play on a high level. Bell is extremely athletic with very quick feet, but suffers from lapses in technique and needs to add upper body strength. (but who knows,... he is probably much stronger with a year in an NFL conditioning program)
beastly23 Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 MICHAEL OHER IS A BEAST. I THINK HE WILL BE A PRO BOWLER FOR SURE> HE HAS ALL THE TOOLS THAT A GOOD LEFT TACKLE NEEDS. I THINK THE BILLS WILL BE SMART TO TAKE HIM WITH THE 11th PICK. COMPARING OHER AND CLADY AS SENIORS IS COMPARABLE. IMA FAN OF OHER!!!

H2o Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Oher is dumber than Jason Peters and lazier/less motivated than Mike Williams. We've been down that road before, so sure, let's draft him. Michael Oher got a 19 on his Wonderlic http://ballhype.com/story/georgia_s_matthe...s_out_with_nfl/ Jason Peters got a 9 http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/f4/che...ores-27095.html Lazy/Less motivated than Mike Williams? And your evidence of that?

And yet in spite of all these winning moves, the Bills haven't been able to crack 7-9. That's weird.
In space no one can hear Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 yours, MICHAEL OHER no, if it was really Oher he would have signed it like this: X
The Dean Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 Oher got a 19 on the wonderlic. Jason Peters scored a 9. Are you another that confuses a Wonderlic score with intelligence?

BillsVet Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 I for one will stay optimistic. Its a much more fun way to go through life. You must enjoy being miserable. Good for you. If you enjoy ignoring reality in order to remain optimistic, so be it. I happen to demand success, and in this case I'll take a playoff appearance. Unfortunately, the last time we had one of those something really bad happened. That was more than nine years ago. I gather there are several casual fans who don't really care if the team loses. To them, just having a team is enough. OTOH, a winning season every decade is also enough for them.
Buftex Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 "Bills to Tom Donohoe...may day, may day... we have lost control... Bills to Tom Donohoe, do you read?... god have mercy on all of us...."

I think we need to see how the draft goes before making that proclamation. I'm very concerned right now, but I'm not pessimistic enough (yet) to think that the Bills are truly okay with losing: Peters Dockery Preston Fowler Whittle And signing just Hangartner and McKinney. The current "plan" seems to be Walker at LT, Chambers at LG, Hangartner at C, Butler at RG, and Bell or maybe a rookie at RT. Which would leave McKinney + last year's practice squad as the only backups. If the Bills seriously expect us to buy that, they're crazy. But they CAN'T admit how much they need O-line right now, or anyone hoping Oher (or whoever) will slide to them will know for sure that they need to trade in front of us to grab him. If the Bills keep up a front about going in other directions in the draft, it increases the likelihood of success. Now, if the "plan" isn't gamesmanship, and the front office really thinks that last year's scrubs will improve on last year's starters, then it's time for the gloom and doom proclamations.

There's a difference between caring if the team loses, and calling everything the team does (and every one associated with it) "stupid" because they haven't been successful. And, there is a middle ground between rose-colored glasses, and seeing only the negative in every situation.
The Dean Posted April 18, 2009 Posted April 18, 2009 "Bills to Tom Donohoe...may day, may day... we have lost control... Bills to Tom Donohoe, do you read?... god have mercy on all of us...." Yes, Tom left the team in such wonderful shape.

The reverse peephole Kramer used in his door? Or an eyepatch? Yes, Tom left the team in such wonderful shape. So did Marv. TD was three plus years and four off-seasons ago.

Umm actually my family worked for the Bills in the 70s and 80s. I have been to three Super Bowls the Bills have been in. So the casual fan i am not. But i refuse to allow the offseason to bring me down. I understand that the Bills are trying to make moves. Now you can look at those moves with pessimism(your way) or optimism (my way) and hope things do turn around. And in the mean time cheer them on. Thats what a real fan does. Not look for every opportunity to tear down his team. Oh and you demand success? Really? You have nothing to do with it at all. You sure you are not a Philly fan? You sound exactly like those type of guys. Love you up till the minute you loose. Then boo the heck out of ya.
