theesir Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 I really thougt this was going to be a tough sell to begin with, but didn't think it would end so quickly. Hopefully they'll be able to get it up and running again. Yet another punch in the nose for the WNY economy. http://www.cnn.com/2004/TRAVEL/DESTINATION...y.ap/index.html
sweet baboo Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 now they're talking about hovercrafts... don't ask me why
gantrules Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 yeah, it's SUPPOSE to be up and running again in 2005. I'll believe it when I see it. Thanks Bill Johnson. Another unjustified waste of money.
EndZoneCrew Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Why don't they have one that goes from Buffalo-Cleveland-Detroit.....this would be great for football/baseball/hockey games.....unlike Toronto which is a world class city.....this offers these"rustbelt" cities a chance to help each other!
stevestojan Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Why don't they have one that goes from Buffalo-Cleveland-Detroit.....99578[/snapback] It would be like the stinky o-ring of the united states...

Would you really want to jump on that ferry in December, January, Feb.... and March...??? Man, I've got to send you a copy of Gordon Lighfoot's "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald"... I know it ain't lake Superior we're talking here... but it's pretty damn close. Definitely not for this kid... even with case under my belt.
EndZoneCrew Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Pussies...... .......of course have it open from March/April-November!
Guest Guest Posted November 4, 2004 Posted November 4, 2004 It happens to all businesses that have a laughable business model yet can somehow dupe a politician(s) into thinking that people will trip over themselves to use it even though there is absolutely no way you can get enough riders to make any business model work for it. Then the politician provides the funding, you buy the boat, shut it down after a few months and take the boat somewhere else. It seems to have worked for the floating people mover since the politicos were too KzooMike to write something into the contracts that would keep the floating people mover on Lake Ontario much less Rochester.
