Buffaloed in Pa Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Denver gets Orton. More details to come. Good keep him out of the AFC
LabattBlue Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Denver fans have to be pulling their hair out with the offseason they have had.
Fingon Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 Jay Glazer of FOXSports.com reports that the Chicago Bears have sent two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and quarterback Kyle Orton to the Broncos for quarterback Jay Cutler and a fifth-round draft pick. The Bears held the 18th pick in the first round of the draft. Per NFLPA records, Orton is signed through 2009, at a base salary of $995,000. http://www.profootballtalk.com/category/rumor-mill/ Broncos made out like bandits.
lets_go_bills Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Awesome! He's outta the AFC and I'm happy as hell about that. Here's the ESPN link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4037373

Thats good news for us still...I find it hard to believe that Denver sees Orton as their guy of the future...reports indicate that the Broncos are really high on Sanchez, so maybe we can parlay some of those picks from Denver in a trade down for them to get Sanchez if he falls to us...
Alphadawg7 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Broncos made out like bandits. They did, thats what you get when you trade a young franchise QB...its rare...
San Jose Bills Fan Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Donkeys get 2 firsts, a third and Kyle Orton. Bears also receive a 5th from Denver. The Bears pick in the first round this year is #18 so it doesn't directly affect us at #11. I'm assuming the second #1 pick is next year's.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Good news for us, keeps him out of the AFC East.
Fingon Posted April 2, 2009 Author Posted April 2, 2009 They did, thats what you get when you trade a young franchise QB...its rare... He will bomb in Chicago unless they give him enough talent.
Alphadawg7 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 This is good for us...i doubt Den wants Orton as their long term starter...reports say they are REALLY high on Sanchez, so if he falls to us, maybe we can parlay that into a trade down and pick up some of these extra draft picks...
Got_Wood Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Well, 2 first rounders this year and next year won't hurt the Broncos. They should be able to load up on some talent.
San Jose Bills Fan Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Good keep him out of the AFC Awesome! He's outta the AFC and I'm happy as hell about that. Everything I'd read there was little chance of him staying in conference for obvious reasons. Thank goodness there were plenty of bidders in the NFC.
Magox Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Out of the AFC!!!! Thank God he didn't go to the Jets!
Alphadawg7 Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 He will bomb in Chicago unless they give him enough talent. Greg Olsons stock just sky rocketed...
TheBuffaloBills Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 Wow, can anyone find me the interview of Josh McDaniels with I believe Tom Jackson. It is like two weeks old, right when the dust seemed like it was settled. Josh McDaniels says something like, "I guarantee Jay Cutler is our QB next year". I want to watch it, and laugh at it.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 2, 2009 Posted April 2, 2009 The Broncos are now likely to spend their #12 overall pick on a QB. Thats fantastic news for the Bills who sit at #11, if any of the QBs slide and teams like the Jets, Tampa Bay, Minnesota or Detroit (if they didnt take a QB #1 overall) want a QB, they'll have to jump in front of Denver now. Really gives us a lot of leverage for a trade down if that turns out to be our best option.
