The Dean Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 Dean, the results aren't there to prove this point. The consensus based approach has produced three consecutive 7-9 seasons. This season Buffalo will struggle to make the playoffs, although it's not out of the question. The question is not about experience, just experience in the right place among the "senior football" people. If Brandon is making decisions, it's a gamble to think he's going to learn quickly enough on the job. In a division with the free spending Jets, Belichick and Parcells, that's not comforting to me. Again, what makes you think Brandon is "making the decisions"? If he was, I might be concerned, too. He's a member of the team, and one who actually admits he needs to learn more (a good thing). I think you can finally understand he isn't driving the bus. He's a bus driver in training. The team's record is far more due to coaching, than talent...or perhaps you think Dick is an excellent coach.
Tipster19 Posted April 1, 2009 Posted April 1, 2009 First off let me start off by saying that I like Brandon. I think that he is a bright young talent who wears many facets well. I f he was good enough for John Butler then he's good enough for me. Keep in mind that Butler was a scout and a talent evaluator and not just on the field. Where AJ Smith was such an odd duck Butler saw something in him and adored the guy. Like Smith or not but I don't think that anyone can question his vision, competency and decision making. Smith is one of the best GMs in the game. Firstly, "Brandon indicated that the team needs depth at all positions, but a pass-rushing defensive end, outside linebacker, tight end and left guard are specific needs." Here is where our draft will go. Forget an early pick used on a DT. After reading what Brandon had to say about our specific targets and his comments on Jason Peters, his perception of our team and fanbase and that losing is unacceptable, I'm of the belief that we not only re-sign Peters but our draft will go something like this. 1st rd- DE Aaron Maybin 2nd rd- OG Duke Robinson 3rd rd- OLB Tyrone McKenzie As far as a TE goes I expect the Bills to work out a trade for one. I'm thinking that a trade for Todd Heap is a very good possibility for Roscoe Parrish and an undetermined draft pick.
