Glass To The Arson Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Me Jags, Vikings, Chiefs, Saints, Chargers are more likely to go
Leonidas Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Me Jags, Vikings, Chiefs, Saints, Chargers are more likely to go I love your enthusiasm. I'll keep my thoughts on corporate ownership to myself for the time being so Mr. WEO doesn't have an aneyurism but I think that list is a little optimistic. Jax and Minny are facing trouble, certainly, but that one article pointing at KC seems way off; I don't think they go anywhere. New Orleans won't go anywhere for awhile with the whole Katrina thing, and if SD moves they'll just move 20 miles south to Chula Vista which doesn't really count. It's like the Bills moving from Orchard Park to Tonawanda. As long as they don't move out of the greater Buffalo area nobody is really going to complain.

Haha I read a few weeks ago the Chiefs might move... I'll find the link.
May Day 10 Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I like to think either Jacobs or Rich will swoop in and save the day. Or possibly the Jim Kelly plan whatever that may be has truth to it. I think it there is a willing buyer, the NFL will allow the Bills to stay.
Leonidas Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Haha I read a few weeks ago the Chiefs might move... I'll find the link. Yeah, don't stress over it. I saw the same article. It was pure speculation though. The Chiefs are a storied franchise that aren't going anywhere. One team you left off your list was the Rams. Their stadium lease expires in 2012 and there has been speculation of them returning to LA. The owner came out and said it wasn't true (http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/05/20/...s-arent-moving/) but I'd still put them right up there with Jax and Buffalo (sadly) on the list. Again, as I said in another thread, the best chance for this to happen is to contact local politicians (Chuck Shumer, David Patterson, Bryon Brown, etc.).

Leonidas Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 David Patterson's blind. yes...and he's the governor of New York...?

stuckincincy Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 im just curious to see who thinks the bills r here to stay No place to go. The NFL has onerous fees payable to the other owners if there is a buyout, and few if any viable towns will spend a dime to bring a franchise in, these days? That's barring a town/county that is heavily populated with people more or less already living the free life on the working public's back and don't risk a dime pulled out of their pocket. That's how Mike Brown got his $400M free palace - he put forth a big PR campaign to convince the majority that pays zip and will never pay zip to fund his riches on others. Shades of things to come...
SF Bills Fan Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I think the Jags should be the team to move. They can't even sell out a Monday night game. They have to block out seats. That team never should have been awarded to Jax to begin with. They were the default winner when St. Louis screwed up their bid in '95.
May Day 10 Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 well, who wants a team? Toronto and LA. Is there anywhere else that is a slam dunk over Buffalo due to revenue. The NFL still isnt a sure thing for fans. It has to build fan bases too. If you put a gun to my head, and I had to choose the correct scenario, I would say the Bills move to Toronto by 2014.
The Dean Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 I think they stay. They are not going to LA, and I don't think Toronto can support an NFL team, just yet. Jacksonville is a better candidate to move, than the Bills, and there is probably another team (or two) in a worse position, than the Bills.

Dean you should know as well as me that the jags are not moving......c'mon
Leonidas Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Minnesota is always in these talks. But here's an interesting article on the subject: http://www.forbes.com/2008/10/08/vikings-b...1008moving.html. An interesting point is that since RSW doesn't have any debt and consistently sells out there is less to worry about than a Jacksonville or a Minny.
The Dean Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Dean you should know as well as me that the jags are not moving......c'mon Why? They can't sell out their small stadium, even after covering 10,000 seats.
