And to the ones here in defense to Bill Belichick... He might not have said Peters wasn't good enough to be on the Patriots... but I guarantee he wouldn't want Peters on his team. How do I know? It's common sense an idiot could figure out. This board is wayyyyyyyyyyy too narrow minded. Come out this Friday night in Buffalo and lets have a few drinks (and get off this website for awhile!) BORING!!!!!!!!!
seq004 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 He played like crap last year I agree. I'd like to see him stay in Buffalo but he's not worth the money he's asking and he has high trade value. If a deal isn't in place by July I think the Bills will trade him.
markd2020 Posted March 31, 2009 Posted March 31, 2009 He wasn't grossly underpaid last year. If you lead the league in sacks allowed and you're NOT the lowest paid player then you aren't underpaid, much less "grossly" underpaid. "Market value." People don't seem to know what that means. Just because Jake Long is absurdly overpaid doesn't mean that Peters' market value is all of a sudden $10M+/year. If Peters didn't plan on honoring the contract then he shouldn't have signed a FIVE year deal. That being said, he does deserve to get paid more as a starting LT. But if he thinks he deserves anywhere near what he's asking he's on some serious drugs. I just hope the FO isn't on the same drugs. We need a top LT(who doesn't). The FO has to decide what Peters is worth. If Peters won't accept being paid anything less than the top LT in the league, the FO has to determine if he is worth that. He still has two years left on his current deal, so they still have a little bit of leverage. Another training camp holdout is not what the Bills need though. Also, it looks as though Jason Taylor will be back in the AFC East. One also has to wonder what would the Bills get in a trade for Peters. Draft picks are not guaranteed. Look at the Mike Williams disaster.
