billsfan_34 Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 I just wanted to know how everyone else felt about re locating to Niagara Falls. I myself am torn. On one hand I like the idea. Imagine this. A state of the art stadium with the falls as the backdrop. Hotels for tourists and things to do. Money will get put back into the city of NF and then the city can begin to rebuild and gain much needed tourism dollars. How nice would it be if our side looked like the other side but better with a beautiful stadium. On the other hand, I cant imagine the Bills not being in erie county. It would seem strange at first but maybe we could get used to it. I think for the Bills to remain in Erie County they have to put the stadium downtown on the waterfront. Dont get me wrong, Orchard Park is fun and easy access. But the stadium itself is really a second rate stadium now. When you walk in it feels dreary and uninviting. I figured this would be a fun topic to talk about instead of Ralph has passed, Ralph is alive, or some of the other silly and disrespectful posts that have been posted lately. Semper Fi
The Dean Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Slowly I turn, step-by-step, inch-by-inch... Â Oops...sorry.
Glass To The Arson Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 the city of NF on the American side is like the East side of Buffalo  I would rather have the stadium next to Clifton Hill lol  at least that skyline is bigger
rackemrack Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 niagara falls usa is extremely ghetto, downtown buffalo wouldn't be quite as bad. i live a stone's throw from the ralph so i would prefer they stay there

Everyone knows NF is a dump. But so is Buffalo and Where the Stadium is in OP is no crown jewel either. The point is if a stadium went there maybe it could help re vitalize.

I am merely attempting for all of us to look at the big picture. But your opinion does matter.

lol i know, i'm just lazy. a stadium in the falls could do alot for the region, and hopefully make the american side a viable tourist destination.
jax bill backer Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Listen quit talkin about niagara falls... u guys should be worried about the buyers of this team.... lot of buyers in toronto none in buffalo

We all get lazy sometimes LOL. I will let ya slide...this time. I think what we all really want though is the whole buffalo/niagara region to thrive again, get the population back up and say F U to Toronto. I understand why they did it but it just doesnt sit well with me. I mean you cant even freakin tailgate there.
billsfan_34 Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 Listen quit talkin about niagara falls... u guys should be worried about the buyers of this team.... lot of buyers in toronto none in buffalo Your comments really have no credibility whatsoever. Who are the buyers? I havent seen one make an offer to Ralph. The team doesnt have to be for sale to make someone an offer.
Glass To The Arson Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 Buffalo isn't a bad city. Its actually a really nice city and safe to walk in. The only eyesore is the outdated buildings and main street is filled with empty shops. I hate the subway train.

But I kinda agree, its got some cool stuff to do and a decent nightlife. I know some dont think so but how many places have a 4 am last call. I would love to see a stadium in the city also. People could eat before going in the stadium. If the weather is bad dive into a bar for a brew. And instant money for the city.

DazedandConfused Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 We all know that. Everyone knows NF is a dump. But so is Buffalo and Where the Stadium is in OP is no crown jewel either. The point is if a stadium went there maybe it could help re vitalize. Stadium investment is an odd thing in that the economic studies I have seen indicate that there are often far better monetary investments for an area than for a football arena that is going to see usage on relatively few days per year. The problem in addition is that if this is the only type of investment which can be had (the private sector is not beating down any doors to do investment in these times of economic meltdown and even if they were NF would not likely be their first choice) then perhaps with some analysis it might make some sense. Â My guess from a back of the envelope perspective is that one is looking for a sweet spot where on triggers a largish governmental investment into building a stadium in a place that is not do good that it can compete in the remnants of the private sector, but not so bad that this football arena can attract additional traffic to make the expenditure worthwhile. Â My guess is that building a stadium on the waterfront in downtown Buffalo probably is better choice than building one in NF. Â In terms of logistics downtown Buffalo is a more accessible location than NFL to the I-90 serving the region both east and west, and also is a better connection to Toronto since the QEW goes from Toronto to Buffalo and actually one must take a spur to get to NF. Â My sense is that anyway you cut it this is gonna be an economic boondoggle but it is actually the economic ghettos of NYS that will benefit the most from getting a stadium investment. Of the ghettos I think a Buffalo waterfront spot makes more sense than an NF investment.
billsfan_34 Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 Rogers dosent ring a bell...yes he is dead... but just because he is dead everyone seems to think that its over [/quote No it doesnt I have been living my life in an alcoholic haze. Rogers never made an offer for an NFL team and I dont see anyone in canada making one anytime soon. Too much blowback from the CFL.
jax bill backer Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 u dont think the NFL would pay off the CFL.. im sure they would any day
billsfan_34 Posted March 28, 2009 Author Posted March 28, 2009 u dont think the NFL would pay off the CFL.. im sure they would any day Its not about paying off the CFL. Its about the fans of the CFL. The people of Canada really love their version of football. I know there are alot that Like the NFL and come to the games. But more come for the tailgate and atmosphere. You wont get that in Toronto and they will keep being attracted to the Argonauts.
SKOOBY Posted March 28, 2009 Posted March 28, 2009 There is plenty of room for parking downtown Buffalo, by the waterfront.
