Wooderson Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 Wow, looks quite good. I remember reading the book as a little kid and loved it. I'm looking forward to this now, thanks. Good find.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 http://www.movieweb.com/news/NEfaZihoTMGiio Awesome stuff, this looks like an artistic masterpiece.
buckeyemike Posted March 25, 2009 Posted March 25, 2009 I loved that book as a kid too. Amazing that it's only 10 sentences long, according to its Wikipedia entry.
Fewell733 Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 looks really impressive. Spike Jonze doesn't mess around when it comes to an artistic vision.
DrDawkinstein Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 looks great. i had posted a leaked clip months back, but i think it was lost in last year's crash. this is going to be a very surreal, and adult movie. cant wait. should be awesome!
Beerball Posted March 27, 2009 Posted March 27, 2009 Wow, looks quite good. I remember reading the book as a little kid and loved it. I'm looking forward to this now, thanks. Good find. I can't view the trailer at work. How does it compare to Cloverfield?
BillnutinHouston Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Awesome. Now if the guy can make a movie out of "Goodnight Moon", I'll be really impressed!
Hazed and Amuzed Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 looks really impressive. Spike Jonze doesn't mess around when it comes to an artistic vision. Agreed, I personally think Spike is a genius.
Vetriano Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Looks Ok. I would prefer Sendak-like animation instead. Definately looks a lot more developed than the book-- which I guess is necessary to make a full length film (but if thats the case--why not give it a different name)? The original story Im not sure needs to be corrupted like they have done to so many great Dr. Seuss stories (starring Jim Carey). I think I'll try to introduce my daughter to the original story (that will remain a classic forever).
In space no one can hear Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 I am looking forward to seeing this movie! The book was my all time favorite kids book- looks like Spike is going to do it justice. Can't beat having Arcade Fire on the soundtrack. The song in the clip is "Wake Up" from their LP titled Funeral.
stevewin Posted March 29, 2009 Posted March 29, 2009 Awesome. Now if the guy can make a movie out of "Goodnight Moon", I'll be really impressed! Ha - when I started reading the thread I was thinking the same thing
John Adams Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 That looks nightmare-inducing creepy ala Mike Myers in the Cat in the Hat. And my version of Wild Things is cracked from all the times I read it so I'm no hater.
The Big Cat Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 Certainly looks as though the film takes quite a few liberties with the otherwise non-existent plot.
