Let's see...You mock Texas. Now Oklahoma. Methinks you are mean-spirited.

Only to people that don't think the Czarist Presidency of Obama is the best thing to happen to this country since FDR.

Yeah, but they're living on Okla-freaking-homa. :(

Just giving a comparison for those that may have been less knowledgeable about the Midwest.

It also goes to show why blanket taxes for income levels aren't as fair as they look on paper.

Hitler worked with corporate executives. He didn't fire them.

Though in fairness, if he were alive today, he'd probably look at Obama firing Wagoner and think "You mean I could have just fired those guys?"

The interesting part of this GM firing, to me, is "Who hires the replacement? Does Obama have to sign off on it? Does Obama hand pick the replacement? Does the replacement report directly to Obama?"

And I'm not being petty. I honestly will be curious to see how this works. If he wants free range to take over any company he wants, as Geithner is requesting, it'll be interesting to see what he hopes to do when he does take a company over, as he's about to do with GM.

And what happens when the board disagrees with Obama? Does he fire the board? Then does he appoint his own board, or still pretend to maintain a sham of shareholder rights by allowing a vote subject to his approval?

I noticed the market is tanking today...I presume it's because of Wagoner, in that no one in their right mind wants a voting stake in a company whose exercise can be overridden by executive fiat. Even the die-hard Democrats in my office are shaking their heads on this one.

Wrong.

Well let's see, Hitler...

.. was religious and fought against atheism

.. hated communism

.. hated gays

.. hated pornography and prostitution

.. put country over individual rights

I'll let you draw your own conclusions what political party he would belong to.

I think it's tanking because this is a stark reminder that auto is still in deep sh-- and the new 30-60 day deadlines are soon and things are going to be uncertain for a while.

I am torn on Obama firing Wagoner. Is it really that bad? When GM agreed to take the money instead of going into bankruptcy, this is the sh-- they agreed to. It's a good lesson for the next company that comes begging for money.

My favorite line:

"Let me be clear. The United States government has no interest in running GM. We have no intention of running GM," Obama said.

No. Really. Despite what he's doing, he means it. Really he does. :(;)

But they're going to take care of everyone's warranties, so that's good news. Cuz I think my the starter on my wife's car is about to go. I just hope I can get the car to DC for repair before it completely shuts down.

Your kind is not welcome around here.

But Hitler was a conservative, Stalin was on his left.

Fascism is extreme conservatism.

In this context, my administration will offer General Motors adequate working capital over the next 60 days. During this time, my team will be working closely with GM to produce a better business plan.

That quote is more like Benito Muscatelli than Hitler. It's not good either way, but we should be accurate.

No really, do tell, what makes you think he's lying here? (you know, outside of your wishful thinking)

His kind is the majority on TBD. By far. If it doesn't feel that way, it's only because you guys can't hold up your own in your arguments. I can count the Obama supporters here on one hand.

Oh, I don't know. Maybe it's the part where the President of the United States removes Wagoner, says the government will honor warranties and creates tax breaks to people who buy a GM this year. You know...the fact that he's actually running the company while he's saying he has no intention of running the company might seem like he's lying just a wee bit.

At this pace it won't be long before you can count ALL Obama supporters on that hand. Pay attention. They're dropping like flies.

Let me be clear about something else. I was very wrong about something during the election. I began commenting that I actually wanted Obama as president because (1) McCain was closer to being Obama than he was to my ideals, and more importantly (2) I figure his plans would !@#$ this country up so bad that he, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, etc. would all get run out by angry mobs within the next four years. The reason I was wrong is because if I completely underestimated just how deep and far-reaching his errors will hurt us. Simply removing them won't remove the damage they're doing to our country, to our security, and to future generations. I completely misjudged just HOW messed up his policies will make this country.

Keep watching. Pretty soon you won't even be able to count yourself on that hand of yours. But by then it will be too late.
