Tipster19
Start wrapping your mind around Michael Oher. I wouldn't be too surprised if we trade back later into the 1st rd for DT Peria Jerry though. It would be even better if the Bills traded our 4th rd pick for TE Tony Scheffler, then this draft would be solid.

Hazed and Amuzed
Michael Oher isn't a guard. That's where some teams are projecting him in the NFL, so it makes sense that we might try to grab him...
Tipster19
Michael Oher isn't a guard. He played it his freshman year and some feel that with his demeanor that this would be his best position in the pros. Are you suggesting we play Oher at Guard? Yes I am. Until the Peters' situation gets worked out Oher makes good insurance. If Peters doesn't sit out then Oher fills the LG immediately. I expect Langston Walker to be expendable after this season. Ideally the big money goes to Peters, Walker is sent packing and Oher is one nasty Pro Bowl guard for years to come. Having said that I believe that Demetrius Bell will fill Walker's position for the 2010 season.
jreed82
I would rather go with Duke Robinson at guard with our second round pick. The guy is simply dominant run blocking and more than adequate in pass blocking. He sustains blocks and puts a good percentage of his opponents on their back or drives them downfield. We need to hold onto Peters and give him the money....D-line first round (tackle or end) and then the best available interior lineman in second round. Tight end and pass rush specialist in third and fourth. simple
BB-Gun
I'm a first time poster. My thinking is the Bills will get the best value, other than trading down, would be to take the best player to play SAM position, that can pass-rush. Clay Matthews or Maybin would be ideal. They get a starter, and improve their pass-rush. In the second round, get a pass-rush specialist like Connor Barwin. Barwin could come in on passing downs and learn the position behind Aaron Schoebel. Third round would be taking the best TE available. Fourth round, best pass blocking guard available. Then fill for depth. Unless BJ Raji is available at #11, then all bets are off. Your thoughts?
Peter
I wonder if the Bills cut Dockery prematurely given that it does not appear that we will be upgrading that position any time soon. I hope that I am wrong.

BB-Gun
I wouldn't mind that at all, but the big IF there is if Peters doesn't resign, then we have another hole to fill Peters is still under contract, so that is not a big concern, IMHO. Worst he can do is hold-out out of training camp. To go on record, I am against trading Peters this year. Perhaps next year if they can't sign him. My feeling is they will get it done for about 8.5-9 mil/year.
tennesseeboy
We should take the best offensive or defensive lineman available in rounds one through four. The only exception might be for a quality OLB in rounds two or later. We go NOWHERE unless we do something about the trenches. Not getting our offense on the field because we can't stop the run and not getting the ball to Evans or Owens because Edwards is on his ass is not the way to get to the playoffs. atlbillsfan1975
The Bills MUST get the Peters situation resolved before the draft. If they dont then you are drafting blindly. Not knowing if you will or wont have a LT. If he is gone then you could definetly take Oher here. If Peters stays then take Robinson in the second. You would have a very good young line. With your possible replacement right tackle waiting in the wings in Bell.

Scheffler would be a nice piece to the offense too.

I hope that I am wrong. I'm starting to wonder about that myself. I can't believe that they would boot this guy and not have a strategy in replacing him. Wouldn't that be ludacrious? The Bills MUST get the Peters situation resolved before the draft. If they dont then you are drafting blindly. Not knowing if you will or wont have a LT. With your possible replacement right tackle waiting in the wings in Bell. I wholeheartedly agree. If we retain Peters and he's satisfied, could you imagine how good and young our OL would be, especially if we drafted someone like Oher or Robinson! I think our OL would be a strength for years to come. i think it would be a waste to draft an OG at #11. get a DE or OLB with #11 and possibly get an OG in the 2nd. Scheffler would be a nice piece to the offense too. If we didn't get a LG at #11 then I would want a pass rushing DE with that pick but I wouldn't like to see us take a LB with this pick unless it was Curry and that's not going to happen. I think that we made more of an effort to build our DL than our OL and that's not saying much. We gave certain individuals a ton of money on both sides of the ball but the difference is we cut 50% of our big $$$ OL (Dockery) whereas we just kept Schobel and Kelsay and paid them. AlbanyBill
I think if FO is thinking about drafting any Oline help with #11 I don't think it will be a G, probably a Center and moving Hanggartner to LG. And I'd be ok with that scenario, although we do need serious help at OLB and DE.
