erynthered Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Making fun of the disabled. Nice work obama!! http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/20...dent-ob-15.html
/dev/null Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Now we need Corky to go on TV and say: Barack Obama hates disabled people
ieatcrayonz Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 As I stated in the other thread, I'm pretty sure it is just that his teleprompter was made in Canada.
Wacka Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 If this was ANY Republican, the press would be crucifying him. Libs, don't give me the it was late night and that's why they haven't attacked him yet. Leno tapes at 7 PM EDT / 4 PM PDT.
pBills Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I heard that also likes to torture cats and dogs. Hope that liberal media doesn't pick up on that.
stinky finger Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I heard that also likes to torture cats and dogs. Hope that liberal media doesn't pick up on that. They wouldn't report it if they did.
Kelly the Dog Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 If this was ANY Republican, the press would be crucifying him. Libs, don't give me the it was late night and that's why they haven't attacked him yet. Leno tapes at 7 PM EDT / 4 PM PDT. It was a really stupid thing to say and he and his staff knew it right away. He called the head of Special Olympics to tell him about it and apologize before the show even aired on the east coast and anyone knew about it unless you were there at the taping. The guy from Special Olympics, I thought, handled it pretty good by saying something like okay, but that stuff hurts people and you shouldn't joke about it. And I have already seen it on the news about four times this morning so I don't know what you mean about no one is reporting it. Bad joke there, Prez. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/03/20/o...c_n_177302.html
VABills Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Bashing crippled people and having orange hair. Wow, looks like Obama had good day.
DC Tom Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Oh, who gives a sh--. Admittedly, the hyprocisy between crucifying Republicans and excusing Democrats for things like this is laughable, but it's as irrelevant as Bush's verbal missteps.
IDBillzFan Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 It was a dumb thing to say, and to be honest I have no idea how that joke managed to successfully travel from noggin to lips, but given that he apologized as quickly as he did, maybe the media on the right can now spend some time trying to find out why no one in Congress knows what the Constitution says. Though, on a partisan note, lefties have to be cringing a bit with this. After years of listening to libs joke about Bush inserting his foot in his mouth all the time, I fear Obama won't prove to be much better when he's off script. Without a teleprompter, he gives Gibbs a run for the money in the articulate arena. I'm at the point where I actually look forward to Gibbs press conferences these days. In some ways, he reminds me of the Iraqi Information Minister.

In some ways, he reminds me of the Iraqi Information Minister. I've got no problem with the joke, because i've made jokes like that about myself and others countless times. I'm sure we all have, and anyone on here who has called someone else a tard has made the exact same joke. The problem is, you've got to realize that you can't say that joke when you're the president and you're on camera. Stupid comment by Obama. In the bar with your buds, sure. On national TV, hell no. As for the media and the constitution, its wishful thinking. The only way you'd get the media to pay that much attention to it would be if there was an American Idol amendment being passed.
Wacka Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I'm not offended. What I am offended about is the difference in the way the press treats republicans vs democrats. If it was Bush, they would have been on within minutes speaking about it.

If it was Bush, they would have been on within minutes speaking about it. It was seen for the first time at 11:30 at night, you intellectual cripple! And I saw it reported on cable news before it even aired. On two alleged left wing media sites, saying stuff like "Quip could hurt Obama".

The only way you'd get the media to pay that much attention to it would be if there was an American Idol amendment being passed. Maybe I'm more naive than I give myself credit for, but it would seem to me that when you take a Congressional oath to uphold and support the Constitution, one requirement is that you actually KNOW what the Constitution says. In fact, I think you should be an expert on the Constitution. This week we learned that virtually no one in Congress either knows it or understands it. This, to me, is the biggest travesty of this new tax law.

Although I agree with you, I have seen both lawyers that are specialists in economics and constitutional lawyers in the last couple days say that they think this is okay. I have no idea myself. But I don't think it is as clean cut as it appears. Hopefully, this gets thrown out and everyone STFU about it and gets back to fixing the real problems.

Back when people had the enormous satellite dishes, one could get the live feed of the Tonight Show from LA to NYC, because the NBC censors were in NY.

And this is the reason I have not run for President even though many people think I would make a great one. But then again a President who uses F-bombs as nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs would be !@#$ing refreshing.

Because, as Cheney and now Biden have demonstrated, there's a definite entertainment value in a VP who's nuts.
