buckeyemike Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 John Wayne. Denzel is at #1, Clint Eastwood is second. This just shows how iconic John Wayne was. Although he played the same character in many of his movies, some of his later work was his best (True Grit, for which he won his only Oscar in 1969, and his final role in The Shootist in 1976, when he knew he was dying). America could sure use a John Wayne in the movies right now. Eastwood's the closest we have, and he can't go on forever.

shrader Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Denzel Washington #1? He's done a lot of good stuff, but that doesn't seem right to me.
/dev/null Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Any list not including Steve McQueen is garbage
buckeyemike Posted March 19, 2009 Author Posted March 19, 2009 Any list not including Steve McQueen is garbage An argument can certainly be made for McQueen, Paul Newman, and Jimmy Stewart. The purpose of this list is those who are popular currently.

I don't think McQueen is in the same class as Newman and Stewart. He was a decent enough actor, but not in their league.
deep2evans Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Shocked that DiCaprio isn't on there. His movies are gold. I'm also surprized Denzel is ahead of Will Smith. Big Willie Style has a lot of fans.
HereComesTheReignAgain Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Any list without Matt Damon and/or Ben Affleck is meaningless garbage!
The Senator Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 John Wayne.Eastwood's the closest we have, and he can't go on forever. yes he can... go ahead...make my day...

Buftex Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 All worthy actors on the list...Paul Newman gets my vote!
Wooderson Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Denzel Washington #1? He's done a lot of good stuff, but that doesn't seem right to me. Word. Is this supposed to be most popular of all time or most popular right now?
