ohiobuffalo Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Cal C Alex Mack benched 225 40 times at the Bears' Pro Day Wednesday. He also ran a solid 5.17 forty and measured in with a 33 1/3-inch reach, which is better than heralded OT Eben Britton's. Mack was terrific at the Senior Bowl and seems likely to be the first drafted in a talented center class. I would like him in the second if he falls
Steely Dan Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 The Bills will not take a C before the fourth round if their aggravating history is any guide. They seem to think this position is unnecessary and that JAG will be ok. It's infuriating to me. Centers are responsible for line calls they have to be able to snap the ball and get up into a DL's pads in one move. They have to protect the shortest distance for a DL to the QB.
GOBILLS78 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 WEAK! /gobills78 runs to his bedroom and hides under the bed.
No QB - No Bueno Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Impressive physical display, but worthless for assessing football strength. A strength endurance test in a game of explosion.
LabattBlue Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I'm not grading Mack until I hear how he fares wrestling Krumrie.
H2o Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 link? This one says 20 reps http://www.ibabuzz.com/raidersblog/2009/03...s-mack-closely/ Roto World says 40 reps http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playernews.aspx?sport=NFL
DanInSouthBuffalo Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I don't think he makes it out of the 1st round. I don't care who we have signed, if a team needs a center this is the year to do it. There's five or six guys with pretty good potential.
FluffHead Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 40 is a pretty awesome number. I wouldn't be surprised if PFT is right and it was only 20...
WVUFootball29 Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 NFL.com blog reporting 20 reps http://blogs.nfl.com/category/pro-days/
Steely Dan Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 WEAK! /gobills78 runs to his bedroom and hides under the bed. Alex called and wants your address. He said it was to deliver you a special something. I'm not grading Mack until I hear how he fares wrestling Krumrie. Also how big is his lunchpail? Tim Anderson's was a Powerpuff girls lunchpail.
Tim Anderson's Lunch Pail Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Also how big is his lunchpail? Tim Anderson's was a Powerpuff girls lunchpail. Hey! I take offense to that
Steely Dan Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Hey! I take offense to that You are what your lunchpail says you are.
Proteus Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 I'm 5'9 190 and can do it 22 times. So if Mack only did 20 that's not encouraging. Although I think Haynesworth only did like 15.
lets_go_bills Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 With Harngartner in the fold and all the other needs we have, the Bills won't take Mack in the second, IMO. They need to sign one of these OLBs quick, look to acquire a guard and continue exploring that Scheffler trade. If we did that, we could go DE and C as our 1 and 2 picks. But of course there is still the Peters dilemma...
