firstngoal Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Penn State Pro Day...DE Aaron Maybin improved his forty time from the combine by posting 4.59 and 4.63 forty times this morning during PSU's Pro Day workout on campus...Maybin has also gained 25 pounds since the middle of January, bulking up from 227 to 252. Buffaloed in Pa Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Idon`t know ,these moving up guys, which were not the man at there position scare me. Eric Flowers was one of these guys.
Fingon Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Aren't pro day 40's usually less accurate than combine ones?
1billsfan Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 He should be our #11 pick, Drafting a defensive end that weighed 227 pounds as recently as January? No thanks.
Buffaloed in Pa Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Aren't pro day 40's usually less accurate than combine ones? Yeah ,It seems they are always faster too.
Magox Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 pass If Brown isn't available at the #11, which I don't think he will, then I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to try to trade back into the 1st round by trading our 2nd and another pick and try to get a player like English or Ayers. If not maybe Lawrence Sidbury with our second round pick. I just don't like to many of the DE's this year with our #11 pick.
cantankerous Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 I'd pass at #11. He was a one year wonder in college...that puts enough doubt in my mind to look elsewhere @ 11.
McBeane Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Poz may have a little say in this, or at least get in the heads of the FO about him. I think he has tremendous potential and its huge that he has been bulking up. I wouldn't mind him at #11.
VOR Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Wasn't Maybin the guy with the second fastest 10-yard time?
BeastMode54 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Wasn't Maybin the guy with the second fastest 10-yard time? yea, that's correct
Phlegm Alley Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 He does have a ton of upside, but I see him more as a pass rushing LB than a DE lining up with his hand down.
lets_go_bills Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Drafting a defensive end that weighed 227 pounds as recently as January? No thanks. He was 236lbs in January. Unless the Bills really like Orakpo or Brown, Maybin is looking more and more like the pick.
LabattBlue Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 Nobody knows how the extra 20-30 pounds will effect his play. No way I'm gambling on him at #11.
freedom2528 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 He should be our #11 pick, He should not be our #1 pick, Raji should be the man!
basskik11 Posted March 18, 2009 Posted March 18, 2009 this guy has the word "bust" written all over him.
Leonidas Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 Aren't pro day 40's usually less accurate than combine ones? Exactly. Without exception. He was 236lbs in January. Unless the Bills really like Orakpo or Brown, Maybin is looking more and more like the pick. He played at 234 lbs. He weighed in at the combine at 249 lbs. and ran slower than my grandmother with a broken hip. Listen basskik11 - he has "bust" written all over him. Avoid this guy like the plague.
