OCinBuffalo
I am curious as to whether our group's Hollywood writer will tell us if the excerpt he posted is indicative of good writing. And, I will be interested to see this movie in full, and ask the same question. Of course we don't have much info on this yet, so I am not expecting much...not that I am anyway. I just watched "W" again the other day. I say again because I wanted to make sure my reaction to watching it the first time was accurate. Yes, this is one of the most gratuitous, incoherent movies I have ever seen. If it was intended to be a caricature, then it succeeds, if it was intended to depict how the drama of the decision making process, and the people and their roles, evolved...its an absurdity. Let's hope this movie is accurate, and tells the real story truthfully, which is bound to be more entertaining than the douchebaggery that guided "W". Let's hope this is not just another: "let's make a movie that makes us feel good, because we can't stand being wrong" movie.
DC Tom
Yes, this is one of the most gratuitous, incoherent movies I have ever seen. Clearly you haven't seen Battlefield Earth.
OCinBuffalo
Clearly you haven't seen Battlefield Earth. I have...but point taken. I am still trying to figure out how that = "a dream project" for John Travolta....oh, that's right, L. Ron Hubbard wrote the book! Once you have psychologically committed yourself to the "fact" that the emperor's clothes look great...you end up being conner Oh, here's a review of a book written by another Scientologist...oops, I mean, Environmentalist....A Portrait of Intellectual Vapidity. Now that is how you crush a turd. This guy gives you a run for your money. Saw this on RCP today...hysterical. DC Tom
Or maybe he's like me...Saw both movies and have spent the last few years wishing/pretending that I hadn't. So please stop reminding us As much as I dislike !@#$ing March of the !@#$ing Penguins (that is its full name, btw), I wouldn't want to pretend I hadn't. It was a watershed moment, resulting as it did in the Official DC Tom Suck-O-Meter movie rating scale. 2012, for example, rated 4.5 penguins out of five (half a penguin short of "I can't believe I paid to watch this ****"), whereas Inception rated a rare no penguins. So says Rupert Murdoch's lackey You desperately need a new shtick. Have you considered macrame?
