VABills Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 It is nationally a statistical tie. Looks like Bush loses Ohio, according to them but takes Pennsylvania by a fair margin. Overall they seem to show Bush winning the electoral college with about 280 or so votes. http://www.gallup.com/election2004/showdown/

Pine Barrens Mafia Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 This is before today, and not this early exit poll monkey business, right? 97264 I know, this early exit poll thing looks like a CLEAR attempt by the media to supress late Republican turnout.
Alaska Darin Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 IT DOESN'T MATTER. There is no accurate way to gauge what is going on right now. DID WE LEARN NOTHING 4 YEARS AGO? I sincerely wish there was a pill that would enhance individual patience.

bobblehead Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 I know, this early exit poll thing looks like a CLEAR attempt by the media to supress late Republican turnout. 97268 All these do is tarnish legitimate exit pollers and make it more difficult for them to conduct exit polls in the future.
SDS Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 NRO is saying these aren't really exit polls form today, but they could possibly be "early voter" numbers...

Oh, won't it be a joy to see all these smug libs faces turn long when those ridiculous 60-40 numbers disappear into the ether?

Gavin in Va Beach Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 All these do is tarnish legitimate exit pollers and make it more difficult for them to conduct exit polls in the future. 97286 Why do we need exit polls anyway? Is it too much to ask to simply wait until the polls close and all votes have been counted before announcing results?
Alaska Darin Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Darin...you are billsfanone...J-Bone has declared admiration. 97299 That's obviously better than being KzooMike, which would make me like just about everyone else.
BuffaloBorn1960 Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 I know, this early exit poll thing looks like a CLEAR attempt by the media to supress late Republican turnout. 97268 not unlike the media's attempt to call florida before the polls closed in western fla in 2000
BillsNYC Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Why do we need exit polls anyway? Is it too much to ask to simply wait until the polls close and all votes have been counted before announcing results? 97311 I just checked MSNBC, Fox, and CNN and none of them are mentioning exit polls or makign predictions...so at least THEY are calling it a day yet...
stuckincincy Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Why do we need exit polls anyway? Is it too much to ask to simply wait until the polls close and all votes have been counted before announcing results? 97311 One problem is that the media is in it for the $$$..it increases viewership. Considering that after several years of idiocies like "Survivor", American Idol", and "The Apprentice", a goodly portion of the voting public acts like a drunken Roman at the Coliseum giving a thumbs up or down. Sad.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 I just checked MSNBC, Fox, and CNN and none of them are mentioning exit polls or makign predictions...so at least THEY are calling it a day yet... 97331 EXACTLY, these are all numbers reported on BLOGS. BLOGS!!! How anyone can believe the numbers coming from a BLOG is beyond me, but... On a side note, I think the networks are frothing at the mouth to put this stevestojan out there, but are so wary of being burned again....
bobblehead Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Why do we need exit polls anyway? Is it too much to ask to simply wait until the polls close and all votes have been counted before announcing results? 97311 Well, yeah, but exit polls are not going away anytime soon, so I would rather it be done by legitimate methods than what we are seeing pop up already today.
Nervous Guy Posted November 3, 2004 Posted November 3, 2004 Why do we need exit polls anyway? Is it too much to ask to simply wait until the polls close and all votes have been counted before announcing results? 97311 yeah...we should be more like Afganistan
