Magox Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Free agent LB Derrick Brooks says he doesn't plan to retire and is open to playing another season in Tampa Bay. "I’ve still got the Jones to play," he said. "I committed myself to playing one more year." The Bucs seem doubtful to bring Brooks back at a reduced price. Cutting the former franchise stalwart twice in one offseason would look bad. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/Home_NFL.aspx?rwr=1 Since it seems as if we are offering 1 year contracts like T.O and Mike Peterson, it would seem logical to me to offer a 1 year contract in Derrick Brooks. He is aging but should be an upgrade over Ellison. He still has the desire to play. Not to mention if we fail this year, Jauron will be gone and so will most likely the Tampa 2 defense, then Brooks would be gone. Seems like a logical fit to me.
lets_go_bills Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I'd sooner take June or Keiaho but he's another option, but at nothing more than a one-year deal.
scribo Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I'd sooner take June or Keiaho but he's another option, but at nothing more than a one-year deal. I say sign all three and let them battle it out in camp for two spots.
Hossage Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 Make Bryan Scott a linebacker and get it over with.
GR8PRKN Posted March 10, 2009 Posted March 10, 2009 I'd sooner take June or Keiaho but he's another option, but at nothing more than a one-year deal. June would be a good addition, I wish Crowell could work things out with the FO
