Steely Dan
It's a one year deal and T.O. will have to play nice or never be signed again. I would be totally against this deal if it wasn't for length of the contract. I really think this will keep him in line. If he's smart he'll realize he needs to go out with a favorable public opinion to help his HOF chances. The $6.5 million dollar contract is less than Housh's and Coles deals. If they had given him a multi-year deal then I think the chances of backfire would be much greater. His chances of being a distraction on a multi-year, IMO, would be 75-25. Since it's a one year deal 25-75. JMO The contract is the only reason I don't hate this deal and like it now. Edited to add second question. Steely Dan
I added the second question because I think it may influence a FA's mind in coming here. T.O.'s signing can be viewed by potential FA's as a sign Buffalo will make the playoffs next year and they want to be on a winning team. It could also turn off some potential FA's because of his attitude and locker room presence or it won't matter at all. I'm leaning very slightly to it will help them.
