VABills Posted November 2, 2004 Author Posted November 2, 2004 They are there to observe...not to do anything related to making sure indidviduals are registered 96960 No, it stated no more than one can actually work as a polling offical. The other 2 are only allowed to observe. It pretty interesting what you read when you in line for 2 hours starting before 6 in the morning. Especially when there are only 40 folks or so in front of you. You get a little bored and angry.
blzrul Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Oh those nasty election workers! How terrible! Where do they think they are, the Department of Motor Vehicles?!
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 Oh almost forgot the other one. They had a woman demanding outside to have a voting machine outdoors. She said she refused to go inside and was declaring that our polling place was restricting her rights to vote since they wouldn;t accommodate her. The polling officials were trying to see if they could get a friend to walk a ballot out to her, let her fill it out and then walk it back in and put it in the machine. Come on now, tell me these are planned to try to slow the process down, to get people to leave the line. 96252 What kind of hell hole do you live in? I am in a heavy 'pube area and things went great... Didn't even check IDs... Never have, never did. I don't know why they don't register everyone by SS? Once it enters the machine/box... Becomes "Australlian" Why address? Vote on Saturday... On Prez. elections... One ballot... One race.

I can almost understand the reasoning. BUT. Anyhow, from what I heard they were trying to get 2 poll officials to walk the ballot with her friend outside, have her fill it out and then her freind would bring the ballot back inside to scan it. Good thing she wa in the m-z book, since they had to walk the book outside as well to verify everything.
RkFast Posted November 2, 2004 Posted November 2, 2004 So far, by all accounts, things are going pretty smoothly, outside of the typical congestion and a busted machine here or there. Even a Kerry/Edwards official on Franken's show today conceded this. Hope it stays this way...................
