JimBob2232 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 We are pretty deep at WR now. Obviously we keep: Terrell Owens Lee Evans James Hardy (2nd year) But we cant keep Josh Reed Justin Jenkins Roscoe Parish Steve Johnson Someone has to go...who is it?
rackemrack Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 jenkins or johnson... roscoe was recently extended and a great punt returner and josh reed proved he was somewhat valuable last season
silvermike Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I think it's going to be a big question in camp. If someone else steps up as a punt returner (McKelvin?) look for Roscoe to go. If they can get special teams gunners from DBs or backup RBs, then it's Jenkins. If Steve Johnson looks too much like a 7th round pick, I don't think he's safe. I think it's very unlikely Reed gets cut.

Obviously we keep: Terrell Owens Lee Evans James Hardy (2nd year) But we cant keep Josh Reed Justin Jenkins Roscoe Parish Steve Johnson Someone has to go...who is it? No one, we kept 4 TEs last year now we can afford to drop that number down to 3 assuming we take one in Round 1 or 2 of the draft.

JOSH REED is on your we can keep list. huh? Hes Trents favorite receiver. Im not sold on Hardy and hes injured he would be my first pick to go but they wouldnt even have to do that they can IR him for the year since there is no gaurantee he wll be ready for the season. Other than that if your looking to save money you trade Roscoe a 4 mil guy but a great PR guy. Then it would have to be justin Jenkins as the odd man out because the other three are too valuable and Steve Johnosn has more upside then JJ in my opinion.
Magox Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Jenkins or maybe Hardy gets put on the practice squad or we trade or drop Roscoe
OnTheRocks Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 I am not sure who gets cut - but my guess is that anyone that twists an ankle or breaks a nail in preseason - is headed to a season ending stint on the IR.
Ramius Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Jenkins gets cut...Roscoe's ability on STs is infinitely greater than jenkins ability on STs.
Stussy109 Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Evans Owens Reed Hardy are locks the rest are up in the air. parrish has been blowing the last couple of yrs as a receiver.
Brandon Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 Considering that Owens' deal is only for one year, its very likely to be Jenkins. The other apparent candidate would be Steve Johnson, but I think they like his potential as a WR, not just a STer, so he'll likely be retained to compete for the starting job a year from now.

OnTheRocks Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 A little change of topic from the original post: IHO Reed is not tradable - and Parrish is. Granted I don't think the Bills would get much in return - but if the Bills could get a 5th rounder for him - that would be a decent get. I would rather keep Reed (a great blocker and "ok" short yardage receiver) - and trade Parrish. Than keep Parrish (lightening in a bottle as a returner - but never used to his top potential by the coaching staff) and cut Reed for no return.

Obviously we keep: Terrell Owens Lee Evans James Hardy (2nd year) But we cant keep Josh Reed Justin Jenkins Roscoe Parish Steve Johnson Someone has to go...who is it? Don't be so quick to assume Hardy is a keeper. He may end up on IR. In a suprise move Reed may also go (although I highly doubt it). No secret to anyone who has read my other posts I would like to see Roscoe traded.
Speedy G Posted March 8, 2009 Posted March 8, 2009 The question is ? might OBD add another free agent wr? how many others have got the tour, and might they be an upgrade over our rookies? hmmmm... If not are added, then Jenkins is gone!
