CaliforniaCheez Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/articl...1/90305070/1978 Thirty Wisconsin food pantries are benefiting today from an online contest in which Green Bay Packers fans helped the team win the Campbell’s Chunky soup’s “Click for Cans” contest. As truck after truck pulled up to receive the donations, Packers’ defensive backs Will Blackmon and Aaron Rouse helped to load crates of soup outside the Associated Bank Gate on Lambeau Field’s west side. It’s the seventh consecutive year the Packers have won the online food drive, securing more than 17,000 cans of Chunky soup for Wisconsin food pantries. In addition, this year Associated Bank, a longtime partner of the Packers, joined the effort donating another 11,200 cans to the cause for a total of 28,200 cans of soup to be distributed to 30 Wisconsin area food pantries. “Wow, I cannot believe how many pallets of soup are here. This is pretty amazing,” said Laura Sankey, Packers senior vice president of marketing and sales. “Way to go.” The online food drive contest occurred during the 2008 football season and asked fans to click on a National Football League team. The team with the most clicks won. “Green Bay Packers really do have the best fans in the world,” Sankey said. ******************************************************************************** ********************* Thank you all for voting and making a real contest of it. Congratulations to the Bills for being the winning AFC team.
