lets_go_bills Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Tim, In previous years, Chris Berman always had a "cabbie" who seemed to know who the Bills were going to take in the first round. Recently, he's had no idea. Do you know who his insider was that no longer is part of the Bills organization? Also, I find it sad that Berman isn't able to do that anymore. He always kept it close to the vest and didn't say anything until they were making their pick. I think this really helped boost the image of the Bills during draft day. Tom Donahoe.
Just Jack Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Tim, thanks for stopping by and meeting some of the TBD folks at the Paul Maguire club yesterday.
TimGraham Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Tim, thanks for stopping by and meeting some of the TBD folks at the Paul Maguire club yesterday. Sorry I couldn't stick around longer, but my hunch was right. For those who weren't there, I was nervous that I would have to sprint over to the Bills headquarters if an AFC East trade went down. I told the guys I felt comfortable enough to stay through four picks because I feared the Jets would trade for the No. 5 pick. Wish I could have hung around for a while.
TimGraham Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hey Tim, If you get the time to check the board tonight, what is the Bills' plan at tight end, and does it now involve Tony Scheffler? Thanks a bunch. I didn't have as much time to hang around TSW as much as I wanted to. But I will say that Scheffler was an impossibility as of Friday night. The Broncos decided to keep him.
JPicc2114 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hey Tim I got a question for you Why do you feel that tackle is a huge need for the Bills? I think Buffalo is fine with Walker and Chambers starting with Levitre and Bell as backups. Did you have anybody in mind that you think the Bills could have taken in the later rounds at the Tackle position?
Leonidas Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 I didn't have as much time to hang around TSW as much as I wanted to. But I will say that Scheffler was an impossibility as of Friday night. The Broncos decided to keep him. Tim, you could have helped us out with that one. Did you see all the GM's on this board with their Scheffler trade proposals?? At least 1 in 4 had actually seen him play, too!
Chilly Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Tim, Why are you so negative on the Bills draft? While I see your corner argument, aren't these guys supposed to be special teams specialists? Also, is it really that big of a deal that they decided to shore up the interior over the tackle spots? They invested in the draft more than they ever have at the OL.
ans4e64 Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hey, Tim-- Do you see the Bills revisiting some of the FA OLB (Winborn, Keiaho) or just sticking with what we have?
Fingon Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Tim, Any chance the Bills go after Leroy Hill now that he's a FA?
WordByrd Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Tim, I'm a normal fan/follower, but your article on the draft was questionable. When did you become a Bills hater? The line will be fine, and the DB's are a little annoying, but they will be good special teamers. Not to mention I feel like Ko is on the way out, and Mcgee won't sign back.
enoff Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Tim, Just curious Did you see RW this weekend, if so how is he doing? Now that the draft is done, what’s the plan with the offensive line? Who is going to be the third starting linebacker?

If you read my posts, you'll see I wasn't negative. In one blog I said what the Bills did was risky. In another I said it was curious. I didn't pass judgment at all. Sometimes, risky is good. Gambles pay off now and then.

I didn't pass judgment on anything. I'm not tripping over myself to label this a great draft. If that's being a hater, then I guess we define our terms differently. When that's the case there's no basis for discussion.

Reports are circulating talks with Philly have heated up again.

I for one thought that the draft was good for this motley crew, but it got silly and amateurish at the end.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Tim. Levi Jones? What do we know about the Bills interest? I saw that John Clayton linked the two in an article earlier, was wondering if you heard anything more.

Tortured Soul Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Hey Tim, Thanks for taking the time. What are you hearing about Leroy Hill? Would he fit in the Bills' budget?
