bizell Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 Courtesy of PFT http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/03/...o-replace-jake/ Now that free-agent center Jake Grove has signed with the Dolphins, the Raiders need to find a replacement. They’re starting with Duke Preston. According to Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com, Preston is visiting the Raiders today. He became the starter in 2008, replacing Melvin Fowler. Preston also can play guard.
Fingon Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 In addition to Charlie Frye and Ray Willis, free agent C Melvin Fowler will visit the Raiders on Tuesday. Fowler lost his starting job to Duke Preston in Buffalo last season and won't be re-signed. He'd figure to back up John Wade at center for the Raiders. http://rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/p...NFL&id=2584
R. Rich Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 A change of scenery may do both players some good. Though for Preston, going to Oakland probably isn't the type of "change of scenery" he should look into.
BuffaloBill Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 One team's trash is ..... another team's treasure. I wonder if the Oakland fans will see this as a "good" move.

apuszczalowski Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 AND melvin fowler I only read they were looking at Fowler after losing their centre to Miami, but Preston too??? Nice
VJ91 Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Courtesy of PFT http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/03/...o-replace-jake/ While I was not thrilled with Duke at center, I still think he can be a quality starting guard in the NFL. I think the Bills should have made him an offer to stay on, especially after dumping Dock.
dave mcbride Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 Duke's dumbass mixing it up after the play v. the Pats in the season's final game probably put him over the top with Al. That was a Raiders play!
