bisonbrigade
Giants sign DE Chris Canty, pass rushing DT Rocky Bernard and OLB Michael Boley. Bills sign back up QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and second string OL Geoff Hangartner. If the Bills don't get anymore decent players Ralph Wilson can take that 50th Aniversary merchandise and shove it! CFLstyle
Well, it's not really fair to call Geoff Hangartner a second string OL, he's here to start at centre. The Giants also just won the Superbowl last year, so that gives them a bit of an edge. We've addressed two needs fairly quickly, it's not great, but as long as we're working towards more, it's acceptable.

JPicc2114
Giants signed Rocky Bernard because most likely Fred Robbins is on his way out.
MartyBall4Buffalo
It's acceptable if another loosing season is acceptable. A losing season isn't made on the first few days of free agency. Losing seasons are acquired by the collective talent and subsequent depth added to the regime over the course of their tenure. As well as the collective ability of the coaching staff, from head coach down to positional coaches to maximize the players ability. Adding a backup qb was a need. Check. The Bills were not planning on bringing in a quasi stop gap starter, ala Jeff Garcia/Collins. They got exactly what they set out to get. A guy who's a backup. Maybe they got a guy capabale of starting at center. They cut bait on some bad contracts. Yes theres a lot of areas of need. Especially in the trenches, on both sides of the ball. However, for a team that hasn't been to the playoffs in a decade, and may have a lame duck coach, with a team who doesn't typically free spend. Yes they'll spend money on free agents, but not to the extent of other teams. Their only course of action is building depth thru free agency and trying to strike gold in the draft. The biggest problem being the sheer lack of astute football minded individuals in the Bills "Inner Circle".
bisonbrigade
THe Bills need defense playmakers, Sack artists and Ball Hawks. Right now the Bills don't got it. Sitting on there wallet and signing second string garbage is'nt going to persuade me to by there 50th aniversary merchandise. And I have been a fan for 30 years. At the beginning of last year was Hangartner the Panthers starting center, NO!
ddaryl
Bernard would have improved our interior DT spot and at 4 mil per seaosn the BIlsl could have jumped all over that... We tried ot trade McCargo last seaosn, wo obviously we want someone else besides him yet not even an invite to Buffalo fro bernard the bottom line is we are not any better then last year in fact we are a tad worse then last year, and yes FA is not over with, but does anyone really have faith in this organization anymore. I don't
BillsFan74
I wasn't aware that FA was over. It's not but understand the concern. The Bills don't seem to be executing a plan for success, they just look second rate this year.
