Get some extra sleep this week boys, the clocks go ahead an hour as Daylight Savings Time begins March 8, 2:00 am. That is this coming Sunday morning. Scary how quickly the time does pass by... yikes

I love daylight savings. Sure we lose one hour, but I get to actually see some sunlight when I come home from work.

For the past several years, I can't wait for DST.

Losing the hour starts such a general funk that I can't shake. Tired, lethargic, moody.... A couple of years back when they changed the date from Oct into Nov, this onset again happened with the clock change, which suggests to me that it's not the variable of the temp/climate change of autumn that does it. People around me have noticed the change too. I won't speak for anybody else, but screwing with the clocks messes up my brain's/body's internal functioning.

Bush the Younger pushed for lengthening DST from April-Oct, and now it's March - Nov. In my opinion, that may be the best thing he did as president, slightly ahead of adding that huge area of coral reef to the national preserve.

Huh?

It is all relative. No? Standard time was always the norm. How would your body react if time was just kept on standard time? Would you be tired, lethargic, moody forever?:thumbsup:

What would you do if you lived in parts of the country that don't change their clocks... Like parts of Indiana or Michigan?

It has got to be all about your schedule and not the amount of light in the morning vs. having it in the evening? Isn't that what it is really about... Scheduling? That is why it was first instituted during the war... So workers would be going home int he dark and possibly get the bejesus bombed out of them while all the moving was taking place to get settled into their abodes for the night. Am I wrong?

One question... Are you a person who can sleep in full daylight... Yes or no?

It is interesting how not everyone does change their clocks. In my area we have many groups of various Amish and Mennonites, one group called David Martin , this a conservative Mennonite group, always stay on standard time. I wish often they would resolve to keep either in Daylight saving mode or standard time, the change does put me out of sorts for awhile.

Umm, I think you're wrong about the war part; it's always been claimed that it's about saving energy. That's why they changed the date a couple of years ago -- although it turns out that it ended up costing MORE energy. Pissed off a lot of IT people who had to babysit servers. Yeah, I was one of 'em

Thanks... I knew it had to do with the war... I just thought it was for bombing then turn around in the dark... I thought that didn't sound right!

Again, thanks.
