FluffHead Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 from rotoworld.com "The Bills have entered contract negotiations with LT Jason Peters. Peters held out through training camp last year and had possibly the worst season of his career, but Buffalo still considers him a building block. The 27-year-old remains one of the most physically gifted tackles in the game."

2020 Our Year For Sure Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 I think they're just a couple of days behind, and are reporting what we've heard already. Rotoworld also just posted that we re-signed Hamdan and Dustin Fox, which is old news.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 All they did was take the Buffalo News report that came out this morning about how Peters SHOULD get a new contract.
FluffHead Posted March 1, 2009 Author Posted March 1, 2009 sorry if this had already been reported. Just trying to pass along some bills related info I had found.

The 2007 Peters, or the 2008 Peters who gave up more sacks than any L tackle in football? In only like 12 games?

In only like 12 games? Given that mack drafts have 4 tackles being selected in the first 10 picks the Bills would be wise to get the deal done. Also, do you know that all the sacks that Peters "gave up" were really his or were they messed up line calls? Hard to believe that so many people have trouble understanding that he can be a building block in Buffalo for years to come.
lets_go_bills Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 Yeah, billsdaily.com cited WGR as saying the Bills contacted his agent and made a contract offer. That was on Feb 27.

Also don't forget he missed all of training camp and the first game...something that won't happen again if he gets a new contract.

Did you see the play where Chris Long of the Rams head faked going outside on Peters, and then just moved right by him to the inside? Without being touched? What line call is that? Peters was like 31'st in sacks, and Dockery was like 28'th or 29'th.

Then he goes on to become a 5 time ALL Pro Tackle. GENIUS!!

Then he goes on to become a 5 time ALL Pro Tackle. GENIUS!! He's already signed, for 2 more years. I say let him come into camp, see where his head and ability are at, and then go forward. If he had come into camp, prepared like everyone else, and actually player well, he'd most likely have his contract by now. Bad mistake on his part.
Magox Posted March 1, 2009 Posted March 1, 2009 He goes to another team? Two years from now when his contract expires, maybe. Come on Lori, you are not that naive are you? There is no way he will play out the rest of his contract with out him either sitting out or forcing us to trade him. We both know that. What I am saying is that, if we trade him, he will go on to be a fantastic player, and meanwhile we will get a good draft pick, and we will hope to fill his shoes. And we know how easy it is to find a probowl LT.

That is all rotoworld ever does, or KFFL for that matter. It just seems fresher when they quote papers from other towns that Bills fans do not read regularly.
