cop beats up 15 year old girl

Recommended Posts

there are good girls and there are bad girls

not to defend bacon, but as a teacher I deal with 15 year old girls on a daily basis. And some of them would stab their moms from behind if given the chance.

Now I have snapped on a class or two, but a kicked shoe doesn't constitute me charging at one of the kids and beating the sh-- out of her. But maybe there was other stuff going that we didn't see or hear. The cop shouldn't have done what he did, but I understand how he could have done so.

The best example I can site is Bucky Phililps, the guy who killed two cops. When he was taken into custody the cops didn't beat him and weren't rough on him. If there would ever be a justification for going off on a suspect that would have been it. The cops were professionals though.

This cop should lose his badge and be prosecuted for assault, IMO. I don't give a rat's ass what she did or said the whole time she was there. They had her in a holding cell already. There is NO excuse for this at all.

More detail on this story about those involved

"We had argued strenuously that the videotape released to the media this morning not be released because it does not tell the whole story of the incident," attorney Anne Bremner said in a statement.

"As we argued to the judge, it will inflame public opinion and will severely impact the deputy's right to a fair trial."

For the sake of playing devil's advocate, would people be disgusted if this had happened to a 15 year old boy that had been taken into custody? Or would we be saying "Yeah, the little punk probably deserved it"?

I'm not defending the cop, because that level of overreaction is inexcusable, but do you think that we're affected by the fact that it was a girl?

I think there is a difference because women are usually weaker than men. I would still be outraged but I see where you're going with this.

The other question is whether or not people would be as outraged if it was a black teenager or an hispanic teenager?

yes, just not the media.

Good question, Sage. For me, it's the same things (although it's even more tempting to call the cop a pu$$y for beating a small, young girl). But, I'm not sure it would be getting this kind of attention, if it were a boyl

And, to reply to another post, of course the video doesn't tell the whole story. The question is, what part that isn't seen could effectively justify this reaction.

I am all for this officer getting a fair trial, with a lawyer who works aggressively on his behalf. I would also question the release of the videos, right now. They should certainly be released to the public...but couldn't that wait until after the trial?

I would suggest he rethink his story, though:

In his own report from the incident, Schene wrote that the shoe hit him in the right shin, "causing injury and pain." He wrote that he "placed" her into handcuffs and that she needed medical attention for a "panic attack."

He said a "blood filled pocket" formed on his shin, requiring treatment at Auburn General Hospital, according to his report. The video, however, appears to show his shin strike a metal toilet as he pushes the girl against the wall.

"After further review, the finding is, this cop is a liar, as well as a bully.l"

The video shows Schene and Brunner as they escorted the girl into the holding cell. Schene had asked her to remove her basketball shoes, and, as she slipped out of her left shoe, she appeared to kick it at Schene.

The girl told investigators that she didn't intend for the shoe to hit him, court documents say.

Those steel toed basket ball shoes are deadly!

Well this guy just gave that girls family a few hundred thousand dollars.

What scares the @hit out of me is that he altered his story from what actually happened.......and there was video to prove it.......

Yes sir the big bad 15 year old girl required this kind of force to subdue her......

I have no problem believing that the majority of our law enforcement are honorable men (and women) but this guy needs to be cast down with the sodomites........

I believe most law enforcement people are good and trustworthy people. A few are A-holes but A-holes with power.

A girl I knew was dating a guy and he got a job working for her father. Her father was making a decision on whether or not fire somebody at a job site and this guy was waiting for her fathers call where we worked. He was taking criminal justice classes and wanted to be a State Trooper. As he stood there he said, "Man, I hope he tells me to fire him!" I asked why he would want to do that he said, "Just to have that power." I told him he's the last person who should ever get a badge.

Those are the A-holes. The people who want the badge for the power it brings. Those who want to protect and serve are the good guys, IMO.

Simply put, power corrupts. The true colors of a person show when you give them control over somebody else's fate. Some police officers unnecessarily bludgeon folks, some soldiers murder innocent civilians, etc.

I don't care wha anyone says, there is absolutely NO JUSTIFICATION for this guy wailing on a 15 year old female. I hope he loses his job and does a stint in jail with the rest of the criminals. The girl and her family will surely be getting paid substantially by the state of Washington.

Ir reminds me of the parking lot scene in "Jackie Brown". It wasn't just one thing that Bridget Fonda said to get Robert De Niro to shoot her, but he did have a breaking point.

I'm not above making sweeping judgments from less than 2 minutes of soundless video:

Bad girl + Bad cop = beating (good/bad/otherwise)

Hey DeNiro can't find that parking spot eh??

My fav. tarantino movie.
