The Dean Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I like it, actually. Not a great signing, but I think Fitzpatrick will be a good #2 QB.
billsfreak Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 No need for Lee Evans to show up if this guy has to play. He can't throw the ball more than 5 or 6 yards downfield. T.J. Houshmanzah (or however you spell it), had 92 catches from him and didn't sniff 1000 yards, what does that tell you about his downfield ability?
Heitz Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 http://profootball.scout.com/a.z?s=127&...c=16&pid=10 Scout.com has him listed as the 20th best QB available in FA "Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man..."
RayFinkle Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 It is almost as if the Bills looked at the list of "veteran' FA QBs and said, "Which one of these guys presents the least amount of a threat to Trent. Hmmmmm, how about Fitzpatrick?" Mission accomplished.

Its win-win!
Arkady Renko Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I am actually surprised to find out how young he is. For some reason, it has seemed like he has been in the league for a long while.
BillsVet Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Well, we've got a Stanford guy, a Harvard guy... and the 2008 Arab-American Athlete of the Year. We can't be stopped. And our HC graduated from Yale. Throw in Levy's influence from Harvard, and we've got the smartest guys in the entire league. Fitzpatrick played behind a terrible line last year, but I figured the front office would go with someone a little older. Maybe they're pushing Edwards a little with another young guy.
Typical TBD Guy Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 You gotta be f#cking kidding me? We were better off with J.P. This team gets more disgusting as every day goes by. Um, no we weren't. JP is a dumb meathead jock who can't do anything productive once his #1 WR is covered on the deep route. Essentially, JP = a more durable RJ. Fitzpatrick doesn't have JP's physical skills, but should more than make up for it with a brain fit for a modern NFL QB. Someone who can sustain drives and keep our defense from having to be on the field for 3/4 of the game.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Fitzpatrick video is up on BB.com. http://www.buffalobills.com/media-lounge/v...d5-eee2da1881b2 Meet our new Megastar
Heitz Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 And our HC graduated from Yale. Throw in Levy's influence from Harvard, and we've got the smartest guys in the entire league. We would KICK ASS in a debate! And not just one that involves football, beer and / or wings...

Turn Down For Watkins Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 "The Noodle-armed" Fitzpatrick, just what I want to here.(Scroll down) Rotoworld
/dev/null Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Yay! another Ivy leaguer just lick Jauron
BillsGuyInMalta Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 "The Noodle-armed" Fitzpatrick, just what I want to here. (Scroll down) Noodle armed Fitzpatrick Ahhhhh, there is some respect from the media.
BillsVet Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 We would KICK ASS in a debate! And not just one that involves football, beer and / or wings... We could put our guys onto the NFL Debate team. That'd show em we're not playing around anymore. DJ could moderate, and I think he'd be a lot like Ferris Bueller's teacher played by Ben Stein. I'll take thermonuclear dynamics for 1000 Dick...
Alphadawg7 Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 I like it, actually. Not a great signing, but I think Fitzpatrick will be a good #2 QB. I agree...wasnt my first choice, but a solid pick up to fill a need we no longer have to worry about.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 The BB.com video is pretty hilarious, your typical "our latest signing is the greatest superstar in the history of the NFL" type of propaganda we are so used to from One Bills Drive. Just watch him tear apart the Lions elite secondary!
silvermike Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 He had a worse completion percentage than JP did this year (59.4 vs. 60.6), but a better TD%, was sacked less frequently, and threw fewer interceptions per attempt. I can't conclusively say that he's better than JP, but I don't think he was significantly worse. However, the Bills really could have used an older vet QB who could have taught Edwards something about the game, not some guy who kept the lights on when Palmer got hurt.
Sisyphean Bills Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Birk is an Ivy League guy too. Hmm. Gonna be rough going up against teams that stock their rosters with players from major conferences...
Numark Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 You guys would be whining no matter what, I actually like this signing. One less thing we have to worry about.
