FluffHead Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Likely a Patriot according to Rotoworld.com... "The Providence Journal reports that free agent Fred Taylor is likely to join the Patriots. The paper believes Taylor, 33, "likely has at least three good seasons left." While that's far from likely, Taylor figures to come cheap and will be a candidate for significant early-down carries in New England. It appears he's choosing Bill Belichick's club over Dick Jauron's. Not exactly a tough one."
Magox Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 i didnt want him anyway. we're more then set at the rb position.
Justice Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 i didnt want him anyway. we're more then set at the rb position. I didn't care much for him either, but it would've been worth it just to prevent him from going to NE.
bartshan-83 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Dude was born in Florida, played high school ball in Florida, went to college in Florida and has spent 11 years of pro ball in Florida. I'd be surprised if his 33 year old joints and muscles make it through a Boston fall and winter in tact.
Oneonta Buffalo Fan 2 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Can they stop gettng good players for once......UGH!
PromoTheRobot Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Can they stop gettng good players for once......UGH! Are you kidding? Good players offer to pay the Pats* to let them play for them just so they can get a ring! PTR
Heels20X6 Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Can they stop gettng good players for once......UGH! And watch as he suddenly becomes an all-world RB again under the Patriots mysterious "conditioning" program that somehow turns wash-ups into Pro-Bowlers....
scoring is not hardy Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Maybe we just wanted to bump the price up a bit
VOR Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Are you kidding? Good players offer to pay the Pats* to let them play for them just so they can get a ring! Those days are over. And we're not talking Corey Dillon after 7 seasons and under-30 here.
drinkTHEkoolaid Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 ehh its not a done deal yet. it could be posturing for a bigger contract elsewhere...
ganesh Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Are you kidding? Good players offer to pay the Pats* to let them play for them just so they can get a ring! PTR The last I saw the Pats with the Lombardi trophy was 5 seasons ago.
BillsNYC Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Shefter confirms: Taylor to sign with New England Posted: February 27th, 2009 | Adam Schefter | Tags: Fred Taylor, New England Patriots Fred Taylor’s run into the sunset took him straight to New England. After visiting Buffalo and New England this week, Taylor decided to sign with the Patriots. The agreement has been reached, Taylor is headed back to New England. After playing his first 11 NFL seasons with Jacksonville, he now is expected to finish his career as a Patriot.
billsfreak Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Anyone who actually thought he was coming to Buffalo is living on dreams. This team has more holes to fill than most teams in the NFL, but running back isn't anywhere towards the top of the list. We have two young stud RBs and even if one is suspended the other can handle the load for 2-4 weeks. Taylor said he wanted to compete, he isn't going to do it here, he would sign being the 3rd best RB on the roster, in New England, he probably will be the best on their roster, since Maroney has been a bust for the most part.
PastaJoe Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Are you kidding? Good players offer to pay the Pats* to let them play for them just so they can get a ring! PTR Players come out of retirement to play for the Pats. He'll probably get 100 yards vs the Bills.
billsfan#1A Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Those days are over. And we're not talking Corey Dillon after 7 seasons and under-30 here. The pats are getting old and this doesn't make them any younger. i say let them have him. i want players that are younger entering their primes, not at the end of their careers. junior seau? come on, what did he really do for that team the last two years besides get older and lose the big games. their time will soon be done and who knows, after a few years maybe the bills will put together a full season and make it to the playoffs
HelloNewman Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 Playing for NE and belechick or Jauron and the Bills?hmmmmm that's a tough one!!
PromoTheRobot Posted February 27, 2009 Posted February 27, 2009 The last I saw the Pats with the Lombardi trophy was 5 seasons ago. And the Bills? PTR
