Well, to be fair, Mr. Kerry has a plan.  The fact that he hasn't unveiled it for 19 years shouldn't matter at all.  :D

This is what bothers me. Congress controls the purse-strings, not the President. Kerry was in a perfect situation to make meaningful changes to taxes and Social Security. What did he do? Now, all of a sudden, as President he will start doing the things he failed to do as Senator. Where were his fights on the floor of the Senate to keep Congress from raping SS?

Sorry, but I just cannot buy into the crap coming from his campaign. When you sit down and think about it, it just does not add up.

I disagree. I feel money is very important in education. The more resources at the children's hands the better. (computers, internet, books, up to date classrooms) Research and my own personal experience show that less money in education = lower results than that of higher funding systems.

John Kerry and George W. Bush have among the most expensive educations one can attain...

Wrong. Guess what school systems have and spend the most money? It's generally not the suburban ones. I've been in more schools with brand new computers that the stupid teachers can't even figure out how to turn on....

Based on what?  He's been a Senator for 19 years.  Education has gotten worse over that time, not better.  This is despite spending more money per student than any other nation.  It has nothing to do with money - you pretty much said it yourself in an earlier thread when you stated you wished you had more parents that cared.

Turning over the power to the government has made parents apathetic.  Your candidate advocates even MORE of that.  How does that fix the problem?  What evidence is there that the educational "Ponzi scheme" is effective?

There is alot of information to wade through.  Take some time to hear the other side of the fence.

"In 1975, we in the Congress, authorized the Federal government to pay up to 40 percent of each state's excess cost of educating children with disabilities. It has been 26 years since we made that commitment and we have failed to keep our promise. We are currently providing only 16 percent out of the original 40 percent promise. Earlier this year, during Senate consideration of the ESEA bill, this body unanimously passed the Harkin-Hagel amendment that required Congress to fully fund IDEA through progressive annual increases. I am extremely disappointed that the final product we are considering today does not include this critical amendment."

—Senator James M. Jeffords (I-VT),

statement on the conference report to H.R. 1, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Tuesday, December 18, 2001

Thanks, and :I starred in Brokeback Mountain:

Tell Teddy Kennedy and the rest of the bipartisan commission about your feelings on NCLB. Then keep repeating the soundbytes.

The guy allegedly graduated from Yale and flew fighters for the military. You don't find it odd that he speaks English worse than most illegal immigrants?

Even if you support his policies, you have to admit that the guy is dumber than a box of rocks!

"internets" wtf?????????

There are other internets, Mike. SIPRNET is one example. I don't know how dumb he is, but I do know I can't stand to listen to him speak extemporaneously.
