Kenwick Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 At this point in time I do not know who the Bills Free Agents will be if Any. Here is my War Room Draft Board as of Right Now......(by just a Bills Fan) This will no doubt change after the rush on Free Agents and we get closer to the draft......... 1st Choice .... LB Aaron Curry ........................... Best Line Backer, but will be long gone 2nd " .... WR Michael Crabtree ................... Best WR and most likely will be gone before the Bills draft 3rd " .... DT B.J. Raji ................................. Damn Good DT & would look good in a Bills Uniform...keep your fingers crossed 4th " .... DE Brian Orakpl ........................... Maybe the Best DE for the Bills .......if they decide to draft Defense with the 1st pick 5th " .... TE Brandon Pettigrew ................... Wilson wants offense... I believe he will be their 1st pick... 6th " .... DE Michael Johnson ...................... Great Athlete ... Tough call here... 7th " .... DE Ayers .................................... Moving up the charts and could be very good 8th " .... DE Connor Balwin ....................... Will be a very good athlete and could surprise. Bills will most likely call him in for another review 9th " .....LB Brial Cushing ........................ Would look good in a Bills uniform. Can pass rush and be a stud stopping the run...... 10th " .... DE/OLB Arron Maybin ................... I was big on him till his slow time in the 40 of 4.78.... He was a lot faster at 234 lbs...He is now 249 lbs. 11th " .... DE Peria Jerry ............................. Can play inside and outside ... is quick with lots of upside Now that I have told you my picks I can almost guarantee they will select someone else ..........lol The Bills have always been full of surprises on draft day and I do not see that changing at all... Wilson says he wants more talent... Modrak stated there is a lot of pressure at One Bills Dr. to get that talent in. Jauron indicated the uneasyness going into this season because of the fan unrest. Everyone knows they are under the gun to perform this year. Their jobs are all on the line more then ever. GM Russ Brandon will have a very difficult job selling tickets if Management does not show a great effort to obtain good talent in Free Agency and have a outstanding Draft the fans will love. The fans have spoken. As we learn more about the above players and others we will probably change our minds several times. I still think TE Brandon Pettigrew is going to be the pick in the first round after all is said and done..... but it will be bounced around a lot before draft day. Even trading down to get a extra two or three pick would be a solid move for their is great depth in rounds 2 and 3....Lets hope they get themselves a stud.
CJPearl2 Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 Looks good to me. Word is that because the QBs are so average this year, Curry will be the #1 pick.
Thoner7 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 My prediction for #1 is Raji. Detroits new coach will focus on the lines. They took an OT last year, and the OT class this year is a much deeper class than the DT class. Pair Raji with Redding would be a big improvment. He will try to recreate Haynesworth in Detroit with Raji.

marauderswr80 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I like all those guys. Me personally, id love to have Crabtree, the kid is a sick player! But defense is where we need a lot of help. Love to have Curry, but he will be gone. Raji, Orakpo, Brown, Maybin are my guys. I love Cushing great player from my USC team.
Tipster19 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 This is always such an exciting time of the year. It gives all fans so much hope and excitement before each season starts. thanks for your time and effort. I haven't gotten into breaking down players this year due to a massive amount of work and financial difficulties but I would love to see the Bills go defense heavy in this year's draft and add a few offensive pieces in free agency. Keep up the good work!
BillsFanForever19 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 That's a bit off, in my opinion. 1.) I think that's a bit high for B.J. Raiji. He is the #1 available DT, but I don't think he should be #3 on our board. Especially since he's a 3-4 DT and we play the 4-3. 2.) Your DE's are WAY off. Everette Brown is considered by many to be the best DE in the draft and best pass rush specialist and he's not even on your list. Aaron Maybin might have ran a slower than expected 40, but he's still the 3rd or 4th best DE (especially with his versatility). Tyson Jackson is screaming up the charts after his Combine. Sorry, but Ayers and Balwin have no business before them and are WAY to high on your list. 3.) Brandon Pettigrew's stock is dropping and dropping fast. His combine showing was very lackluster. He ran a 4.85 40 (slower than some OL). Taking him at #11 was a reach before the combine. Now it would be just downright dumb. Some are saying he might even fall out of Round 1. After running a 4.5 40, jumping an amazing 41" vertical, and catching everything thrown at him smoothly; i'd venture to say Jared Cook will be the #1 TE taken this draft. 4.) Where's Jeremy Maclin? He probably won't be there at our pick, but he's gotta be high on our list.
BUFFALOTONE Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Curry reminds me of Derrick Brooks. Speedy, rangy and can cover like a blanket. Perfect Cover 2 LB

I'm sorry but that just isn't true. There could not have been a scout in the NFL who expected Pettigrew to blow everyone away with his 40 time. He has never been a speed TE who was going to stretch the field like some other guys. He is a great blocker, with good hands. Pettigrew did nothing to help his draft status but he also did nothing to hurt it. Personally, I never thought he was a real option to any team in the top 15. I've always thought he was going to be picked in the 20s. Barring an injury he is still going to be the first TE picked.

ESPN.com - http://myespn.go.com/blogs/afcnorth/0-2-12...FL-combine.html "Oklahoma State tight end Brandon Pettigrew ran unofficial times of 4.85 and 4.97 in the 40-yard dash this weekend. He even was granted a third run and clocked a 4.87. None of Pettigrew's times landed in the top 10 of his position, which is disappointing for the projected best tight end in the draft. Pettigrew looked nervous and had false starts twice during his runs, He is a mid-to-late first-round pick and potentially a target of the Baltimore Ravens at No. 26." Did you honestly think he was going to be a 4.6 kind of guy? He was always going to be a mid to late first round pick and still is projected to go there so how is his stock dropping?
BillsFanForever19 Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 You willing to bet that barring an injury that he still isn't the first TE taken? Did you honestly think he was going to be a 4.6 kind of guy? He was always going to be a mid to late first round pick and still is projected to go there so how is his stock dropping? There were many projecting him to go to us at #11. That talk has all but disappeared by most experts. And yes, I did expect him to run a a 4.6, at least a 4.7. Anyone who projected him to run as slow as he did is lying. Might he still be the 1st TE taken and a mid-late 1st Rounder? Yeah, it's a definite possibility. But picked at #11 and in the top 5 players on our board? Hell no! I realize my belief that Jared Cook is going to leapfrog him probably places me in the minority. But that's my take and i'm sticking to it. Staranger things have happened. Who saw Donnie Avery being the first WR taken last year?
BuffaloRebound Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 Someone to help the pass rush is a must at #11, since pass rushers in free agency will command a ransom. Raji, Orakpo, and Brown seem like the most logical. Stafford, Curry, 2 of the OT's, Crabtree sound like they will definitely be taken top 10. It will get interesting if all 3 go top 10. I'd imagine that means the Bills would attempt to trade down then.
