K-Gun10
Adam Schefter Redskins release Pro Bowl LB Washington Posted: Adam Schefter | Adam Schefter | Tags: Marcus Washington, Washington Redskins This is the time of year when big-money contracts are handed out — and also taken away. At one time Redskins former Pro Bowl linebacker Marcus Washington was the recipient of a six-year, $24 million contract. But now it is being torn up. Looking to create more room under the salary cap, the Redskins cut the 31-year-old Washington on Friday. Releasing Washington freed up $4.5 million against the Redskins salary cap. Washington was scheduled to carry a $6.52 million salary-cap figure for next season. Now, while looking at all the players at this weekend’s combine in Indianapolis, the Redskins also can take an extra long hard look at linebackers. They could use another one to help fill the void that Washington’s release created.

Fewell733
i wouldn't be shocked if they sign him right back. he's considered the heart and soul of that defense.
H2o
We don't really go looking for older LB's traditionally. If anything, we cut them all or let them walk in FA like Fletcher and Spikes. I will pass on attempting to sign Washington. He's a decent LB, but injuries have been occuring that have caused him to miss time yearly for the last 3. bizell
eh, the title of 'pro bowl linebacker' is somewhat misleading.. he was a pro-bowler in 2004. and no thanks.
