Three years ago the 49ers gave Michael Lewis a six year, $30 million contract with $10 million guaranteed. That was then, this is now. Let's figure low and say he goes to the highest bidder at 5 years, $25 million with $14 million guaranteed. In other words, about $5 million/year. So the question is, at $5 million per year do we want to sign the guy? I'd rather spend the money at a different position.
Chandler#81 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 The writer makes an interesting arguement. The first thing we see is no pass rush, so the QB plants and scans the field then passes. We're too busy screamin' about Kelsey, Denney, Copeland being swallowed up, that our rage is transferred to the secondary. "McGee got burned!, Whitner got rolled!" We really don't have a playmaker back there like Henry Jones, Tony Greene, George Saimes. I'm sold. Git er done!
