auburnbillsbacker
Fred Taylor got cut today by the Jaguars. You guys might not remember, but Taylor was selected with the draft choice we gave to the Jaguars for Rob Johnson. They drafted a franchise rb, we got several years of frustration. He sure did look good in the one game he started for the Jaguars.

VOR
They wouldn't have drafted Fred had they not traded for RJ. Remember that they had just drafted Antowain the year before. But thank Butler and Smith for that one.

He had an ok career, but with his speed and size I thought he was going to be real good. I liked how during Wade's first year, we had the Thurman 3 wr package and Smith-Sam Gash power package. Dillon had a much better career. At the time however, I really liked A. Smith. I was pumped when the Bucs took Dunn, because I thought they were taking Smith for sure. lets_go_bills
I hear you. Although I liked Corey Dillon better that year, and he proved to be the better RB. Dillon had some incredible years running for the Bungals. He was such a fantastic RB in his hey-day.
jahnyc
I think the Bills would have drafted Tra Thomas (Eagles) with that pick. He has had a very good career as a left tackle.
Tortured Soul
I remember that Kiper's Mock before the trade (we made the trade at the beginning of free agency, so this was February) had us taking Takeo Spikes.
silvermike
Check my math here: Todd Collins: 2nd round pick Rob Johnson: 1st and 4th + big contract Doug Flutie: Big contract Drew Bledsoe: 1st round pick + big contract JP Losman: 1st round pick + 2nd round pick + 5th round pick So that's 3 firsts, two seconds, a fourth, and a fifth, plus three big contracts on the QB position in the now 15 years of the post-Kelly era. And nothing to show for it but a 3rd round prospect starting.

My Friends Call Me Tebucky
Antowain Smith was a terrible draft choice. Drafting a 25 year old running back in the first round is moronic.

But thank Butler and Smith for that one. I remember reading they most likely would have drafted Tra Thomas who just happens to still be playing LT for the Eagles...he isnt Pace or Ogden but he would have looked good on the Bills line all these years
drinkTHEkoolaid
seeing as how i'm only 25, this is more or less the ineppitude i have known from the bills. i dont know what its like to cheer for a legit stable contender....

The other guys I wished we went after was Drew Brees. He was an unrestricted free agent that went to a Saints team that was very bad at the time. He has had a very good career as a left tackle. That would have been a great pick. The bills have had a series of bad left tackles since Wolford went to the Colts, Peters being the exception.
