K-Gun10 Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Read the review, did anyone else catch the show? http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/02/eastbound-down.html
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted February 16, 2009 Posted February 16, 2009 Read the review, did anyone else catch the show? http://popwatch.ew.com/popwatch/2009/02/eastbound-down.html Not the hugest Danny McBride fan (thought he was intolerable in pineapple express), but this seems like a funny show, and it's about baseball which just ups the ante.
ajzepp Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Finally getting around to watching it...this is hilarious! (in response to being asked if he's ever trained for a triathlon) "uh, no...I play real sports, not try to be the best at exercise"
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Kenny Powers, I think, is supposed to be a mixture of Rod Beck and John Rocker. Just watched the premiere, thought it was great, though it worries me that the protagonist is a completely unlikeable character. We'll see how it goes.
Wooderson Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I finally got to watch it last night. I thought it was slow at first but it caught my attention shortly after. It was very funny, IMO. Kenny Powers reminded me alot of Ricky Bobby, although I feel that Danny McBride's character was much funnier. I also enjoyed the gym teacher aspect of the show because I am studying to be a Physical Education teacher right now.
