Ok, is it just me or do others think it's completely ridiculous to follow your kids in a car while they trick or treat? I don't get it. Is society becoming so lazy that we can't even WALK from house to house?

I understand if you live in the middle of nowhere and need to drive to a more populated area. But I live in a townhome complex, and there are other townhome complexes around us as well. High density, no need to drive. I think it's lame personally.

And I don't buy the "security" aspect; you're just as secure walking with your kids, especially in the days of cell phones.

Anyone else?

In some places here, there are cops patrolling the high trick or treat neighborhoods. They usually pull over the people driving and tell them they have to walk or leave because of the possibility of kids running out in front of the moving vehicles.

Walking is definately the way to go; as driving around you're causing more potential risks to other kids who could be trick or treating.

I had to drive during trick or treat hours to pick up some dinner. It was a nightmare, and kids were all over the place. I drove as slow as I could and kids were running out in front of my car.
