Lee Otis M C Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Now dont get me wrong, Anchorbars wings are easily the best in the nation. But Duff's, with their oversized, voluptuous drum/wing plethora, along with the pitcher of coke and the best skinny french fries you can get -- anywhere -- I can honestly say i would rather spend a Saturday afternoon at Duffs than Anchorbar. Thoughts?

Jim in Anchorage Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 What is this "pitcher of coke" thing you speak of? Took me a few seconds then
The Dean Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Now dont get me wrong, Anchorbars wings are easily the best in the nation. Thoughts? I don't think Anchor Bar are close to the best wings in WNY. I'll take Duff's any day, because I like my wings to be "stupid hot!", but still have good flavor. And, as has already been noted, "pitcher of coke"? Dude?
Buftex Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I like Duffs more than Anchor Bar...but I like a good batch of La Nova or Casi De Pizza more than either. Like all the best resteraunts, though, you can get a less than stellar batch from time to time...

There's nothing wrong with drinking some coke. But yes, Duff's is better than Anchorbar. I think of Anchorbar as more of a tourist attraction that has pretty good wings.
Jim in Anchorage Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Were is Duffs? Isn't that the beer Homer Simson drinks?

ans4e64 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 There are other random places around that have great tasting wings. Duffs is just the name everyone says first, but I don't think they necessarily have the best tasting wings.
yall Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Anchor is way overrated. Some of the better places are: The Pub (on Broadway in Depew) Barbill (East Aurora) Rhino's (Southwestern in OP: 10 cent jumbo wings on Thursdays. And yeah they are good).

Johnny Coli Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Had some decent wings at Gabriel's Gate last time I was in town.

Duffs is just the name everyone says first, but I don't think they necessarily have the best tasting wings. I agree that there are other random places with great wings -- but I still always go back to Duff's. And as the original post says, the fries are AWESOME too.
Ramius Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Duffs. And whats this "pitcher of coke?" I thought they only served beer with wings.
The Dean Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Had some decent wings at Gabriel's Gate last time I was in town. The Gate has always made very good wings.
Johnny Coli Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 The Gate has always made very good wings. Not sure if the joint across the street, Frizzy's, was there when you lived there full-time, but we also had a freaking great time knocking back the swill in that place.

Have never been to Fizzy's, but I hear good things. I think it used to be Shannon's.
Glass To The Arson Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Have never been to Fizzy's, but I hear good things. I think it used to be Shannon's. Now I want some DUFFS best wings I've ever had in my life
MarkyMannn Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Rhino's (Southwestern in OP: 10 cent jumbo wings on Thursdays. And yeah they are good). And get to support local music too!!! Rhino's may be the only club in WNY to have live music virtually every night of the week
