Accurate only if he sells the team and gets 750 MM for the team. This kind of "REFINANCING " you speak of is why so many people can't afford their mortgages today. I agree however that he is not hurting based on the Value of the team but this is not liquid especially in todays credit market. I expect to see some of the free wheeling teams to be more cautious this time out and will be surprised if there are all of the expected blockbuster deals for free agents.

On another note I think Ralph made it to the hall this year because so many of the talking heads that smeared him 2 years ago are trying to avoid eating crow with both fists right now after the owners voted down the labor deal.

Most of the folks that buy NFL have their money in order, this isn't like a Visa purchase.

As per the final sale amount, $500 M is $10 a year made for 50 years. $10 M was alot of money in 1960 as well, just like today.

Bingo! Collusion begets more collusion. You are better off leaving the league without a cap in my eyes.

Without the salary cap nothing would prevent the Pats*, Jets, Giants, Cowboys and Redskins from dominating the League year-in, year-out, with teams like the Bills being the NFL's version of the old Montreal Expos at the best (i.e., drafting well, but never fielding a good team because all your FAs go on to big bucks deals you can't afford) or Pittsburgh Pirates (more likely). That would be a lot of fun, wouldn't it? MLB (and its almighty TV ratings) have been going down the crapper for about 20 years, ever since they let their spending imbalances creep up. I used to love baseball (old Rochester boy, so I'm an O's fan), but for about 10 plus years now, I could care less about it (and it gets none of my cash)--hate to see that happen to football, too......

IMO, this is a fallacy.

BFLO sure dominated for a spell in the league prior to the cap.

And the kicker is EVEN WITH the cap, the big teams will still dominate. The only thing the cap does is keep the small teams inline.

Baseball has had more DIFFERENT WS champions than any other sport during the last 30 or so years.

Let the system run a course... What are people going to stop watching ALL sports?... :wallbash::wallbash:

Mark my words... Baseball will be better off in the end. I am a real life socialist, but not a business/sport's socialist.
